Three candidates were initiated
at the last meeting, This makes

Eight applicants for this degree
were presented at their last meet
ing. This Chapter 1s preparing a
large clag for still greater efforts
for a large~lommandery year up
on which they are entering than
ever betore in its history. Jeweler
Russell is our congenial sceretary.
Commandery
As is the custom we always cali
off from labor during the hot sum
mer months. There is to be one
more meeting before this is done,
but no regular conferring of de
grees at the meeting, but final
plans rounded up for the fall

The tenth annual convention
was held in Macon last week. Dele
gates were tendered a banquet at
the Dinkler Hotal, followed by an
automobile ride through the city
and suburbs. Election of officers,
each council in the state sent about
four representatives. Cecil Mor
gan, deputy Grand Kuight' of
Macon Council was nominated to
the office ot state deputy to suc

interest at the rate of five (5) per
cent per annum, interest payable

of January and July. The prin

A Memorial service was held by
the members of the . A. R, Sun
day afternoon at the Blue and
Gray Park. Splendid music was
furnished by the Band and there
was a large crowd present to listen
to the exercises, which were both
impressive and well gotten up,
The opening prayer was by Rev,
Hammond; and Department Cem
mander,.C, H, Brooks read very
impressively Abraham Lincoln’s
Gettyburg Address. The closing
prayer was by Rev. J. L. Leich
liter. After the exercises at the
Park, a large concourse repairedl
to Ivergreen Cemetary and deco- l
rated the Soldiers’ graves with
flowers and flags. l
