MAILS EVEN MIGHT
TAKE SHORT REST
Washington, D. C., June 30.——The
deadlock in the Baltimore conven
tion threatens to continue the em-‘
barrassment of the executive de
partments of the government, due
to the failure of Congress to pass the
appropriation bills for the fiscal year
which begins tomorrow.
To-morrow the house and senate
meet at noon. It is not likely that
a quorum of either will be present,
and unless unanimous consent is
given for the passage for the Fitz
gerald resolution, continuing last
year’s appropriations during July,
the government will have to strug
gle along without funds until the
Democrats nominate a candidate
for President and permit the absent
statesmen to return to their seats in
| Washington.
- Legal authoriti:s said that if Con
gress passes the necessary resolu
ition, the government departments
‘may operate without violation of
ilaw.
Heads of the executive depart
!ments have decided to continue op
‘erations tomorrow on the promise of
‘the leaders that the resolution will be
‘passed. Ifnot passed, some of the
machinery of government will stop
at midnight Monday; all of it might
}stop. The mails might even be held
up.
pWith conventions out of the way,
Congress will begin a steady grind
to transact the business which has
been waiting in the Senate. The
gpptropriation. bills will be taken up
rst.

WON'T FIGHT NEW
CHILD LABOR LAW
Atlanta, June 28.—An agreement
is reported to have been reached
whereby the cotton mill interests of
Georgia will not oppose the Alexan
[der amendment to the child labor
law, scheduled to come up as a spec
ial order on July 9. Under the
present law children under 12 years
are not allowed to work in cotton
mills at all, except where invalid
parents are absolutely dependent on
them.
The Alexander amendment ralses
the age limit to fourteen years and
makes no exception at all. Itis
said withdrawal of opposition in
sures the passage of this measure,
and later compulsory education in
Georgia.
Peach Season is Breaking
Records
Americus, Georgia, June 29.
Americus orchardmen shipped
this morning their fiftieth carload
of peaches for the current season,
which promises to prove a record
breaker. Shipments to date are
principally Carmens, although
Hiley Belles and Georgia Belles
will go forward next week, Three
hundred carloads of peaches, con
servatively estimated, will be
shipped from Americus, besides
the large quantities consumed in
local canning factories. Fruit cars, '
ice and labor are plentiful and
shipping is done under favorable]
circumstances. ‘

HOW A POUGHKEEPSIE, N. Y,
MAN FOUND RELIEF IN SAXO
SALVE.
“I had been troubled with weeping
eczema for months and used many
preparations for skin troubles without
relief. The first application of Saxo
Salve allayed the dreadful itching im
mediately and after further use my
skin trouble entirely disappeared.
Saxo Salve was just what I needed.”—
W. H. Glynn, Poughkeepsie, N. Y.
In eczema the little vesicles or pim
ples are filled with a fluid that burns
and tortures the skin the moment
they are torn open by scratching,
This causes it to spread.
In such cases we can conscientious
ly recommend our new skin remedy,
Saxo Salve, for its action on the skin
in all forms of eczema and other dis
tressing skin troubles is indeed mar
velous.
If it does not help you we will re
turn your money.
