Week’s Engagement
The Maddocks-Field Stock Com
pany opened their week’s engage
ment at the Grand Opera House
last night, and notwithstanding
the unsettled condition of the
weather, the house was packed
sometime before the curtain rose
for the first act, Several members
of the company who have played
in Fitzgerald on previous occasions
iwere recognized by their admirers
‘upon their first appearance and
lneedless to say were given a most
enthusiastic welcome. |
“Under The Bear’s Paw” was
presented by th> company in a
very skillful manner and the
'marked impression made upon the
audience was evidenced by the
vociferous applause. The play
which embraces an inspiring plot
that of itself grasps the specta
tor’s attention and holds it, was
made more interesting Lty the
splendid interpretation of these
talented artists.
The individual castes of theMad
dox-Field players is far above the
average, their extraordinary talent
and skill at once winning the ad
miration of the audience, and the
gorgeous costumes and stage effects
are also noticeable features. The
Company is an all-round good one
and one worthy of the patronage
of those who enjoy an up-to-date
clean show. They will be here
lall week. Kor program and prices,
