have returned from a short visit

from a delightful visit in Mariana,
Fla, where she spent sometime with
her sister, Mrs. E. W. Reid.

Miss Ella Cheple left Wednesdav
for Miona Sprongs, to spend a

Miss Mirian Rogers, of Woodbury,
is visiting her cousin, Miss Sarah
McDonald. They were entertained
several afternoons ago by their aunt,
Mrs. Thomas M. Griffin, who gave
them a watermelon cutting.
Dr. and Mrs. C. A. Holtzendorf
and daughter, Miss Gladys Holtz
endorf, will leave in a few days
for Ashville, N. C., to spend the
remainder of the suamer. |
Mrs. A. Y. Bruce and daughter,
Miss Beatrice Bruce, of Cecartown,
who were the guests recently of Mre.
J. M. Lee, have gone to Waycross
for a visit of several days.
The many friends of Miss Willie
Willis, of Elberton, who has taught
school here for a number of years
will regret to learn that she has re
signed her position and will not re
turn for this coming term of school.
Mrs. C. M. Wise and daughters,
Misses Rhea and Margaret Wise,
and Misses Kathleen and Eulalie
Braswell, will leave Monday for
“Nutwood,” Mrs. Wise's suburban
home, where they will spend several
weeks.
Miss Bessie Floyd the charming
young lady, whe made many
friends here, while a pleasant
visitor to Miss Gladys Martin, has
returned to her home in Brooklet
(Ga,, going by way of Savannah to
spend a few days with relatives

Buckley, formerly of this city, died
‘yesterday at Terrell, Fla.’ Deceasedl

Big Revival Closes at Abba.
Abba, Ga,, July 18, —Yesterday
was the closing day of one of the
greatest revivals held by the First
Baptist church of Abba in several
years. Our pastor Rev. C. A.
Cozart was greatly essisted by
Rev, A. M. Bennett of Norman
Park. Great work heing perform
ed by the two.
The revival was carried on ten
days and during this time forty
members were received into the
church, thirty four by experience
and six by letter. The thirty-four
were baptized yesterday. After
the deliverance of the word of
God in this meeting, we feel that
the community has been greatly
h:lped and with this closing we
wish to thank our pastor for his
kind assistance of preaching.

Ocilla Southern Will Soon
Enter Rochelle
Track Only Eight Miles
from Wilcox Town
Rochelle, July 17.—The Ocilla
Southern railroad nas laid its tracks
to within eight miles of Rochelle,
and has graded the track to within
five miles of Rochelle, Trains are
expected to be running into Rc
chelle by September. The coming
of the road will be of great bene
fit to Rochelle, as 1t will open up
avenues of trade north and south
of here,
