Mr. Hewlett Wells came over
from Shellman Saturday to spend
the week-end with his family who

ty. They returned: to Shellman
yesterday accompanied by Miss
Lucy Belle Nelson, of Medirian,
Miss., who has also been the guest
of Mrs., Moe Carty for several

CARD PARTY FOR MRS. SMITH.
Miss Elia Chaple entertained
very delightfully last Friday eve
ning at a card party in horor of
her sister, Mrs. W. R. Smith, of
Americus. The evening was most
delightfully spent by the guests,
and at a late hour a delicious ice
course was served. The top score
prize, a box of stationery, was
awarded to Mrs. Chas. Isler.
The guests included Mrs. W. R.
Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Arch
er. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Ralston,
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Gill, Mr. and

engagement of their sister, Louise
Fisher and Mr. Pope, of Monticel
lo, Ga., the wedding to take place
on October 2, at the First Method
ist church, Eastman,
- Rev. Guyton Fisher, the brother
of the bride, will officiate and the
‘wedding will be an interesting
social event of the early fall, as
[the contracting parties are well
known and prominently connected
throughout the state.
The foregoing announcement

Singing Convention.
The Royal Singing Association
will hold a sing at Lucy Lake on
the Third Sunday in August. The
sing will doubtless be attended
by large crowds from this vicin
ity, and the Ocilla Southern will
put on a special schedule for
the occasion. Watch for adver
