Saturday from Mrßae, Ga., where
she was called home on account of
the deatt of her father, Mr. D.R.
Harrison.

gone to Springfield, Mo., to make
their home. The cottage they
vacated on South Main street is
now being occupied by Mr. and

lightful informal pienic at Luey
Lake Wednesday. Others inthe
party were Mr. and Mrs. J. T.
Lyles and Mr. Dudley Tenant.
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Gaines and
daughter, Miss Alice Gaines, left
this week for this week for an
extended visit through the north,
and much to the sorrow of their
many friends here, will not re
turn to Fitzgerald, but locate at
some place selected on their trip.

Master Dallas Williams, son of
Mr, and Mrs. W. A. Williams, of
Jacksonville, Fla., who is visiting
his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs,
W D. Bainett, was given a birth
day party by them one afternoon
recently, in honor of his sixth
birthday. The dining room and
the table were beautifully decorat
ed and delightful refreshments
were served, Many prettv pres
ents were received by Master
Dallas.

Miss Thelma Harvey, of Tifton,
and Miss Jessie Cooper of Mcßea,
The party was given at the home
of her pareuts, Mr. and Mrs. J.
C. Boney on Oconee street, and
the evening was delightfully spent
indulging in various games and
contests. In the alphabetical con
tests, Miss Lucy Whitley was
awarded the prize, a pair of silk
hose, Refreshments consisted of
a delicious ice course. The young
hostess was assisted by her sister,
Miss Daisy DBoney, and Miss
Mionie Whitley. The guests in
ciuded Misses Ruth Putman, Sallie
Boney, Lucy Whoitley, Mamie and
Emmie Mashburn, Oihie Cross and

VISITORS
Mrs. Jack Mayes entertained
most charmingly Tuesday evening
at her lovely new home on South
Lee street, the affair being com.
plimentary to her attractive
guests, Misses Maude and Myrtle
Gray, ‘of Gastonia, N C, Tlhe
guests were leceived and enter
tained on the spacious verandahs,
which were lighted with Japanese
lanterns and prettily decorated
with house plants
Rook was the game of the
evening and was entered into with
much vim by the guests, Through
out the game, delicious fruit punch
was served by Mrs, 'W. E. Hale
and at a late hour, a delightful ice
course was served.
