Educational [Mass Meeting
Sunday Afternoon September 22, 1912
To Discuss Educational and Moral
- Aspect of the Colored People
~ of the South
UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE
Atlanta Normal and Industrial Institute
Both races are urged to be preset and lend their sympathy
and co-operation to make the inceting a success for the good
of the Negro children of the cormunity and the state. Educa
tion for our people in the past has been largely to prepare a
few for teachees, preachers, lawyers and doctors, but for years
to come, our attention must be largely given to the education
of the masses to be producers as well as consumers. To be
decent, self-respecting in the comrunities where they live. We
are fortunate in having Mayor A. B. Cook of Fitzgerald to
preside, and to hold this important meeting in the city Theater.
The Theater was secured through the kindness of Post-Master
G. E. Ricker. All of this goes to show that many of the
Negro's best friends in the country are the best white people
in the South. . :
