Col, Marcus Luke was given
quite & pleusant surprise yesterday
when his son, Dr. J. C. Luke aud
wife, of Ocilla, his daughter, Mrs.
Bettie S'ater, of Alapaha, and his
sister, Mrs, Sallie Taylor, of Re.
becca, motored into the city and
informed him that they had come
to spend his sixty-fifth birthday
anniversary with him, but that he
was to be their guest, as they
brought with them a very surap
tuous dinner for the occasion. The
day was pleasantly spent at his
home on south Grant street and
uncle Marcus savs that is one of
the most delightful surprises he
has experienced in many a day,

months, during which time he has
