Baking Made aPI
With Cole’s Hot Blast R
i You will be highly pleased with the results from the oven of Cole’s Hot Blast Range.
he oven is thp most vital part of the range. If the oven is not satisfactory the range is
worthless. A single sheet of boiler plate steel is used in constructing the oven. This extra
thickness insures even.baking and roasting. Bread bakes evenly and is not dried out. Roasts
‘are not dried out, leaving the meat without flavor. Cheap, light steel ranges with light ovens
are not a success they do imperfect work and burn out quickiy.
The oven is extra large in depth and height. It has twc oven shelf slides, making the
shelf adjustable, thus accommodating the largest roasts with room for other vessels when
extra cooking is to be done. The one-piece fire back forms a part of the oven front. This is
protected by a steel shield on inside of oven which causes the air in the oven to circulate and
the oven is heated perfectly. :
The Oven of Cole’s Hot Blast Range will bake six loaves of light bread with less fuel
than any range made. On account of the one-piece Coleized steel fire back and the Hot Blast
Combustion you can bake a batch of light bread, using the fuel remaining after a heavy
. meal or other work has been finished. :
Light bread should be allowed to bake from 45 to 60 minutes. The heat retained in the
heavy Ipaterlal, the perfect control and the air-tight features, make it possible for you to bake
in Cole’s Hot Blast Range without the trouble of building an extra fire and overheating your
kltchpn. The.oven can be heated quickly when required for biscuits or other baking yvmch
requires a quick oven. The bottom of the oven is corrugated, which strengthens it and
sures a level oven bottom as long as the range is used.
Investigate this new, improved range. Remember, these improvements were made to
please the cook, the housewife.

High Cost of Living
Is Here To Stay
Chicago, Sept. 28.—The high
cost of living has come to stay,
according to Prof, Eugene Daven
port, dean and director of the ag
ricultural college, University of
Illinois, who spoke yesterduy at
the National Vocational Art and
Industrial Congress.
“The day of cheap living is over
owiny $o the great advance.in the
life of the country,” said Prof.
Davepport. ““The farmer is the
last man to be affected by high
prices in the cost of living and last
man to be interested. He looks to
his personal interests first and
gives small heed to other industrial
pursuits. Great harm is being
done by this Irrational cry of
“hack to the farm.”
“The only persons who should
leave the city for the country are
those absolutely intent on becom
ing farmers.”

Butter Thieves in Atlanta.
Atlanta, Ga., Sept. 29.—Atlanta
thieves are butter hungry. Ac
cording to the reports being made
by a number of dairymen in the
city butter thieves are out in
droves. Thomas Lawrence, who
runs a dairy on the Brown Mill
road, reports to the police that
while he was making a delivery
the other day some went to his
wagon and took sixteen pounds
of his choice butter. Another
dairyman reported the loss of a
wholé bucket of butter. Other
reports show small quantities
were taken in various parts of
the city.
