Fla., whe has been spending the
summer in Asheville, N, C., has
stopped over on her return home,
for a two weeks’ visit with her
sister, Mrs, Lucian O. Tisdel.
Mr. and Mrs. George Willis
Cole have returned from their
delightful wedding trip to points
north and east, and are now at
home to their many friends at
the home of Mrs. W. O. Wooten
on Jessamine street.
Miss Susie Brown, of Albany,
and Miss Chloe Smith, of Col
quitt, arrived in the city yester
day and are the guests of Miss
Ethel Avera at the Lee-Grant
Hotel. They will be attendants
at the Avera-Lester wedding to
morrow evening at the Central
Methodist Church.

Mr. W. H, Evans of Mobleys
Bluff shot and killed a monster
rattle snake last Sunday afternoon.
The snake measured about five
feet in length and bad 14 rattles
and a button. The snake was killed
within 25 feet of R. F. Robitzsch
& Co,’s commissary.

Miss Elizabeth Pryor and Mrs.
George L. Kilcrease entertained
yesterday afternoon at the home
of the latter at a delightful recep
tion in honor of Miss Ethel Avera,
whose marriage to Mr. William
Audley Lester occures tomorrow
evening, '
The decorations for the occasion
were in pink and white, the lights
being shaded with a delicate pink,
and superb pink and white roses
being used profusely in bowls and
vases.
Receiving with the hostessess
were Miss Avera, Miss Susie
Brown, of Alvbany, and Miss Chloe
Bush, of Colquitt. Little Miss
Dorothy Thurmond received the
cards at the door. During the af
ternoon Miss Johnnie Mae Brough
ton furnished delightful instru
mental music and Miss* Rhea
Wise’s vocal solos were an enjoy
able feature. Assisting in the
diping room where a delicious
ceurse was served were Miss Alma
Roberts, Miss Kathleen Braswell,
Miss Pauline Crawley and Miss
Eulalie Braswell.

The Dramactic Club
The Paint and Powder Dramatic
Club’s entertainment at the Grand
last Friday evening was great suc
cess, and was attended by a large
audience, an evidence of the inter
est Fitzgeraldites bave in amateur
plays.
Tne splendid program render
ed was participated in by some of
Fitzgerald’s best musical and his
trionic talent, assisted by the
Misses Whittington, of Valdosta.
Every number on the program
was very much enjoyed by the
audience, and che farce comedy,
“Uncle’s Will” which closed the
program, was amost fitting climax
for the affair,
Mr. Ethridge Adams returned
this morning from Texas, where
spent the summer with relatives
in various parts of the state.
Mr. S, S. Howle, of the adver
tising department ot the Atlanta
Journal, is here in the interest of a
special edition which he is getting
up for that paper.
