Poultry Show At
The-County F air
The Poultry Show at the Tri-
County Fair is one of the most
popular departments in the |ig
exhibit ball. There are bundrecs
o f magnificent birds on display
and at all times of the day there
is a throng of poultry enthusiasts
admiring them. It has been prov
en that this section of the countr)
is peculiarly adopted to poultry
raising, as in this city there are
chicken raisers who have ;tsken
prizes at the largest shows of the
big cities,
Breeding fine show birds is in
deed an art and rcquires the coi -
stant attention of t he poultiy
raiser. There is a noticeable in -
provement over last year’s exhibits
in this depsrtment. There are
more fine birds on display, making
competition keener, and the win
ners of prizes this year will cer
tainly be entitlod to them, There
is a large display of ducks this
year which shows a n improve
ment in that line also.
Starved Self For
Elaborate Funeral
Atlanta, Nov. 21.- (Special)
That she starved herself to death
in order that she might save
money for an elaborate funeral,
was the verdict in the investiga
tion of the death of Mrs. Anna
Tried, the aged woman who was
found dying in a vacant hcuse
and who later expired at the hos
pital. ’
- It was discovered that;she had
‘iseverall hundred dollars, which
she had savec at the expense of
her vitality, not spending even
%enough, as culmination showed,
to keep body and soul together.
But she had her wish. The whole
of the $5OO was expended in the
purchase of a handsome casket
with silver handles. the purchase
of flowers to decorate the grave,
and an elaborate funeral.

The Goddess of Fate
And Highway Robbery
Atlanta, Nov. 21.—The blin/-
ness of the goddess of justice and
the vagaries of the goddess of
fate are illustrated in the case of
Davis Coker and Ed Regutti, two
young men tried in the eriminal
court here for highway robbery.
They worked their crime togeth
er, as the evidence shows, but
tolay Coker)is serving a ten-year
sentence while Regutti is free.
The charge was that they rob
bed J. W. Ferguson and a jewel
er named Malits of several thou
sand dollars worth of valuable
goods, holding the two men up
on the street at the paint of pis
tols.
Coker was tried first separate
ly, and sent up for ten years.
R2gzutti, tried before another jury
wlis acquitted on the indictment
all :.ging that he had robbed Fer
guson. But arraigned on a sec
ond indictment charging him
with robbing Malits, Regutti
plead gulity. In this case sen
tence on him was suspended.

ican railroads are greatly under

mail, according to a report pre
sented to members of the Amer
ican Railway Association today
by Julius Kruttschnitt.
‘‘Mail traffic does not pay its
overating cost,”’ the report read.
“‘The unjust reductions of recent
years should be corrected and
the railroads should be relieved
from§ strikingly unjust;methods
by which they are at present de¢-
prived of anything approaching
fair compensation.’’
The report declared the condi

Football Played
' By Electric Light
Atlanta, Nov. 21.—Foostball at
night by electric light is the in
novation of a crowd of healthy
youngstere who live in Inman
Park. They gather every eve
ning after supper for their rough
and tumble game, while oeccasion
ally the grown.ups line the side
walk and watch the exciting
games.
The boys say that the winter
afternoons, with darkness clos
ing before five o’clock, are all too
short for their out-door sports.
