From the Daily Bulletin
IWhat Twenty-Five
Fa'rmers Can Do
) Itis enough, therefore, for the
‘ farmers t o give all of their time
‘to the producing of crops; they
must attend not only to the
management of their farms and
the management of their house
holds, but they must also begin
to pay more attention to the
problems of marketing, storing,
shipping, insuring, manufactur
ing and buying. Twenty-five
farmers in any community can
start the movement. Of course
25 farmers cannot build a ware
house, or start a creamery, or
take other forward steps of that
kind. But 25 farmers can easily
begin the movement of buying
together and selling together;
they can own many things in
common, and in various ways
can co-operateto advance their
common interests. It is neces
sary for a few to start the move
ment. The principal need at
the present time is some one
person in each community to
lead off; many others will join.—
John Lee Coulter, in The Pro
gressive Farmer.
