PIOWSSPLOWS!
Speed the PLOW Dial beats the World.
rpilE unparalelled success which has attended the
L introduction of John Rich’s celebrated cast-iron
PLOW, in this State, has induced the subscriber to
make such an arrangement as will enable him here
after to give Ins attention almost exclusively to the
Plow business. By this arrangement, I shell, in a few
weeks, be able to present for the inspection ot the
Planting ommunity, an assortment of Plows hereto
fore unknown in this State, or the Southern country,
and to which I would most respectfully invite the at
tention of every tiller ot the soil. Out of the large
number of persons who have purchased these Plows,
the past winter and spring, more than one-half have
already manifested their entire approval of them as
peculiarly adapted to our soil and climate, and in many
instances, where I have sent oid* or two Plows to a
neighborhood, I have the most flattering encourage
ment as to their performance, with the assurance that
not less than forty or tiny will be wanted to supply the
demand for those neighborhoods the next season.
I would remind those u-ing these plows, of the
necessity of saving the old points. For every two old
points returned to me at Macon, I will give one new
one, which will verv materially reduce the expense of
repairs, in making the crop bring in the net cost of the
point for the small sized Plow down to about 10 cents.
The above description of Plows, may also be had of

This preparation is made ns pure as possible. Its
bitter taste, and beneficial effects in diseases of the
Liver, and diseases arising from an impure state of the
Blood, proven to be the purest and most useful prepara

Those who have usej the various preparations of
Sarsaparilla will find, by the taste and eta ct.that there
is more Sarsaparilla in one bottle of Dr D.’s prepara

That it might be more particularly adapted to pio

been used, that for different diseases, physicians might

might consider mo?t appropriate in cases under their

Commodore 11. E. Ballard, Commandant:
Sir :In obedience to your order of the 10th ult., 1
have carefully tested the “ Machinery Oil ” delivered
in this yard by the “ Oil Manufacturing Company of
New York,” of which Lon is S. Robbins is Patentee,
and beg leave respectfully to report,—that I find it
equal.il not superior, to the very best Oils we have
been in the habit of using in the yard, namely: Winter
Strained Sperm, and pure Neats Foot Oil. It has
been tested carefully on the surfaces of heavy Plaining
Machines, and on Lathes and Fan Blowers, running
at high velocitits, besides ail the other hearings or
journals of the machinery of thtsestablishment, and in
every place its use has been equally satisfactory ; there
is not the slightest appearance of the founation of gum,
and the oil appears to be better diffused and remain
much longer on the hearings than the Sperm Oil I
have always preferred pure Neats Foot Oil to any
other tor the purpose of lubricating machinery ; I have
oiind no other oil equal to it before in my exp -Hence,
until the present time, the Machinery Oil furnished fej
this test by the above Company, being the exception.

E. Pickerel! &, Cos :
Through your very favorable representation, I
was induced to give the New York Manufacturing
Co’s Oil ior Machinery,a lair trial in our Factory.
We commenced its use on the Ist of January, and
have continued to do so up to date, without tin ieast
desire to go back to Sperm Oil again.
Before using it, I was afraid tne quantity -umetl
would be greater than of Sperm; out in that 1 was
mistaken, — and lain now fully convinced (bat a less
quantity will keep a bearing cool, as long, or longer,
than Sperm Oil.
Our Factory contains SO Looms, with 60 of them in
operation. About five quarts per day wili be sufficient
to keep vs going.
Yours, very respectfully.
JAMES ARTHUR, Manager.
We, the subscribers, having used the Machinery
Oil,manufactured by the “New York Manufactur
ing Company ,” do most cheerfully recommend it to
any one who uses Oil on Oil Machinery. We have
given it a thorough trial, and find it to answer ail
purposes of the best Sperm Oil, and in some instances
prelerable, as it heats less than any other Oil we have
used heretofore.
