ING COUGH AND CONSUMPTION.
Ma ly years of trial, instead <t” impairing the public
confidence in this medicine, lias won for it an apprecia
tion, and notoriety by far exceeding the most sguine
expactutions of its friends. Nothing but its intrinsic
virtues and the unmistakable benefit conferred on thou
sands of sufferers, could originate and maintain the rep
utation it enjoys. While many inferiot remedies thrust
upon the community, have failed and been discarded,
this has gained friends by every trial, conferred bene
fits on the atllicted they can never forget, aud procured
cures too numerous and too remarkable to be forgotten.
While it is a fraud on the public to pretend that any
one medicine will infallibly cure—still there is abun
dant proof that the Cherry Pectoral does not only as a
general thing, but almost invariably, cure the maladies
for which it is employed.
As time makes these facts wider and better known,
this medicine 1 as become the best reliance of the afflic
ted, from the log cabin of the American peasant, to the
palaces of European Kings. Throughout this entire
connin', in every State, citv, and almost every hamlet
it contains, Cherry Pectoral is known as the best reme
dy extant for diseaaesnf the Throat and Lungs, and in
uian’ foreign countries, it is coming to be extensively
used by their most intelligent Physicians. In Great
Britain, France and Germany, where the medical sci
ences have reached their highest perfection, l berry
- Pectoral is introduced, and in constant use in the Ar
mies, Hospitals, Alms Houses, Public Institutions, and
in domestic practice, as the surest remedy, their attend
ing Physicians can employ for the more dangerous af
fections of the Lungs. Also, in milder cese*, and for
children it is safe, pleasant and effectual to cure. In
fact, some of the most flattering testimonials we re
ceive have been from parents who have found it effica
cious in cases particularly incidental to childhood.
The Cherry Pectoral is manufactured by a practical
Chemist, anil every ounce of it under his own eye,
with invariable accuracy and cart*. It is sealed and pro
tected bv law from counterfeits, consequently can be
relied or. as genuine without adulteration.
We have endeavored here to furnish the community
w!>h a Medicine of such intrinsic superiority and worth
as should commend itself to their confidence—a remedy
at once .-ail, speedy and effectual, which this has by re
peated and countless trials proved itself to he; and
trust by great care and preparing it with chemical ac
cur .cy,of uniform strength to afford Physicians anew
a evil 1 on which they can rely for the best results, and
the afilicted with a remedy that will do for them all that

\UAIIE CH YNCE for making money by a labor
saving machine. The greatest labor-saving ma
chine in existence now, is the
WOODWORTH PATENT PLANING MILL.
This Mill will plain and tongue and groove 80,000 feet
of lumber per day, and do it much better than by hand,
as it is capable of being set to plane any width or
thickness, thus making ihe work of a uniform width or
thickness. It is only necessary to sec one of these ma
chines in operation lobe convinced of the practicability
of having one attached to every Saw Mill or Manufac
tory of any kind, where their power is required to car
ry on such operations. The Machine requires but about
three horse power to carry it. The great beauty of
having it attached to any manufactory is, that while the
work of the establishment may be laying idle, this mar
chine can be going, as it need have no connection with
the other works.

announce to their patrons, and the Planters generally
throughout the Cotton growing region, that they are
prepared to supply anv number of their celebrated PRE

Where these Gines have been once used, it would be
deemed unnecessary for the Manufacturers to say a
word in their favor, as they feel confident the Machines
haje been brought to such perfection that their superi
or performance v:ill recommend them in preferrence to
all other Gins now in use. For the satisfaction of those
who have not u ed these (tins, and are unacquu*ited with
their reputation, the Proprietors need only sav that the

RHEUMATISM CAN BE CURED.
WE NOW HAVE FOR SALE THAT CELEIiHATED REMEDY
MORTIMORE’S RHEUMATIC COMPOUND AND
. BLOOD PURIFIER—Which has gained such
great popularity where ever introduced, as the only spe
cific known for Ihe effectual cure of this painful disease.
This remedy has already cured thousands of cases, com
prising every seeming form of this complaint, from the
mjl-ivunat.ry ( acute i form to old chronic cases of from
ten to twenty and thirty years standing. Those who
had for years resorted to the various celebrated springs,
had tried all the linaments and external applications,
and been under treatment of some of the ablest physi
cians both in this country and Fiurope; still after all i
these efforts had failed, this compound had cured them.
Many who have been cripples, either hobbling upon
crutches or confined to their beds for years, cert it) to a
complete and permanent cure by the use of this remedy.
Y\ e have not space, in a newspaper advertisement, to
insert the accumulated evidence in its behalf. This
evidence comes from sources which must inspire confi
dence in every mind. Physicians have resorted to it,
and certify that, even in extreme cases, where consulta
tions had been held, and they had decided that there
were no hopes of recovery, even then, they procured
this medicine and administered it, and Reflected a com
plete cure. Ministers of various denominations have
written and published what it has done for themselves
and friends; while merchants, officers, mechanics, and
private citizens have furnished volumes of evidence of
the highest character, such as accompanies no other
preparation in America.
We most respectfully a.-k those who are afflicted to
send to the agent in their vicinity, and get a circular,
and read the letters and certificates of Rev. Jas. Mitch
el. Rev. N. G. Berryman, Rev. J. H. Linn, Rev. J. M.
Kelly, Rev. R. A. Colburn, and other clergymen ; while
we add the names of Hon. J. Smith, late’ President of
the Bank of the State of Missouri; Geo. O. Atherton,
Officer in the Bank in St. Louis; Messrs. James H. Ed
dy, S. Downing, A. Holland, C. W. Stone, J. W. Chris
ty, Joseph Souihack, with other prominent merchants
of St. Louis, os also vast numbers of other citizens.
This is home evidence, and these are living witnesses,
where this great remedy was first introduced. The
proprietors have now opened their Great Central Office
at No. 1, Barclay street, t A.-tor House - in the city of
New York, where all orders for this medicine will be
promptly attended to.
This is a vegetable spirit—an internal remedy, pre
pared and recommended for this one disease alone. —
This it will cure.

MEXICAN MUSTANG LINIMENT!
VS this paper will fall into the hands of many who
do not generally read bUtcu isemems in newspa
pers—and especially those relating to medicines, we
deem it a good opportunity, and a duty, to inform such,
and also those who have not already learned the fact
from their own experience and observation, that tlie
Mexican Mustang Liniment is really, truly atid intrin
sically, the best remedy ever before offered to the afflic
ted for Rheumatism, Neuralgia, Stiffness or Soreness of
Joints, Muscles or Tendons. For Cuts, Bruises, Burns,
or Scalds, Sore Nipples, Caked Breasts, Ac., it is of un
rivalled excellence, and we have proved it to be a cer
tain remedy for the Piles. We can, therefore, confi
dently recommend it, and advise every reader to try it,
feeling a certainty that it will give satisfaction by giving
relief.
We take pleasure in recommending the Mexican
Mcstaxo Liniment to all our friends and customers, as
the best article we have ever used for Sores, Bruises,
Sprains, or (Jalds in Horses. We have used it exten
sively, and always effectually. Some of onr men have
also used it for severe Bruises and Sores, as well as
Rheumatic Pains, and they all sav it acts like magic.—
We can only say we have entirely abandoned the use
of any other Liniment. J. M. HEWITT,
Stable Keeper to Hamden’s Express, and for the
American Express Company.
Rheum \ti-m. —This is to certify that my wife was af
flicted with severe chronic Rheumatism. She had suf
fered for months with the most excruciating pains—she
had tried Rheumatic Compounds, Reliefs, and almost
every thing recommended for this dreadful disease. —
None of them relieved her pains in the least. She
used one fifty-cent bottle of Mustang Liniment, and it
cured her entirely. She is now perfectly well, and re
commends all of her friends to use the Mustang Lini
ment, JAMES L. OLI\ ER
Savannah, Ga., Jan. Ist, 1853.
The Mexican .Mustang Liniment has been used in
my family, and on my plantation, for a great variety of
diseases requiring an external application, and has never
failed to give immediate relief, and effect a permanent
cure. I nave cured sever?.! cases of Rheumatism that
had resisted the skill of our best physicians. It has cur ed
Ringworms by a single application—Chilblains in a
lew days—Toothache immediately—Frost bite-. Cuts,
Sores and Corns, bv a few applications—Nervous
Headache cured entirely. In lact, I have used it for
almost everything, and it lias always cured. I consider
it the best medicine i have ever used.

experience enables us to recommend the Mexican Mus
tang Liniment to the public with confidence, as we
have felt the good effects upon a sprained ankle, which
received great benefit from one application, and has
been cured by occasionally using it tor a week
