Many years ot ;i:.J, instead of impairing the public
confidence in ll*:s medicine, has wen lor it an apprecia
tin') and notoriety by far exceeding the most rguine
expectations of it’s friends. Nothing but its intrinsic
virtues and the unmistakable benefit conferred on thou
sands of sufferer.*, could originate and maintain the rep
utation it enjovs. While many inferior remedies thrust
upon 1 lie community, have tailed and been discarded,
this has gained friends by every trial, conferred bene
fits <'ii Ihe atilieied they can never lbiget, and procured
cm s too numerous and too remarkable to he forgotten.
YVliile it is a fraud on the public to pretend that any
one medicine will infallibly cure— sdlf there is abun
dant proof that the Cherry- Pectoral does not only as a
general tiling - , but almost Invariably, cure Ihc maladies
for which it is employed.
A* time makes these facts wider and better known,
ibis medicine has become the best reliance of the afflic
ted, from the log cabin of the American peasant, to the
palaces of European Kings. Throughout this entire
country, ire every State, city, and almost every- hamlet
if contains, Cherry Pectoral is known as the best reme
dy extant for diseaaesof the Throat and Lungs, and in
many foreign countries, it is coining to he extensively
used by- their most intelligent Physicians. In Great
Britain, Franco and Germany, where the medical sci
ences iiave reached their highest pet foe;ion, Cherry
Pectoral is introduced, and iu constant use in the Ar
mies, Hospitals, Alms Houses, Public Institutions, and
in domestic practice, as the surest remedy, their attend
ing Physicians can employ for the more dangerous af
fections of the Lungs. Also, in milder cases, and for
children it is safe, pleasant and effectual to cure. In
fact, some of the most flattering testimonials we re
ceive have been from parents who have found it effica
cious in cases particularly incidental to childhood.
The Cherry I’ectoral is manufactured by a practical.
Chemist, ana every ounce of it under his own eye,
with invariable accuracy and care. It is sealed and pro
tected by law from counterfeits, consequently can be
retied on as genuine without adulteration.
YVo have endeavored here to furnish ilie community
with a medicine of such intrinsic superiority and worth
as should commend itself to their confidence—a remedy
at once safe, speedy and effectual, which this lias by re
peated and countless trials proved itself to be; and
trust by great care and preparing it with chemical ac
curacy, of uniform strength to afford Physicians anew
agent on which they can rely for the best results, and
tin* afflicted with a remedy that will do for them all that
medicine can do.

| , \ saving machine. The greatest labor-saving ma
chine in existence now, is the
WOODWORTH PATENT PLANING MILL.
This Mill will plain and tongue and groove 10, 000 feet
of lumber per day, and do it much better than by hand,
as it is capable of being set to plane any width or
thickness, thus making the work of a uniform width or
thickness. It is only necessary to see one of these ma
chines in operation tobe convinced of the practicability
of having one attached to every Saw Mill or Manufac
tory of any kind, where their power is required to car
ry on Mich operations. The Machine requires but about
three horse’power to carry it. The great beauty of
having it attached to any manufactory is, that while the
work of the establishment may be laying idle, this ma
chine can be going, as it need have no connection with
the other works.

RHEUMATISM CAN BE CURED.
WE NOW HAVE roil SALE THAT CELEBRATED REMEDY
MORTIMOR E’S RHEUMATIC COMPOUN 1 > ANI)
. BLOOD PURIFIER—Which has gained such
great popularity where ever introduced, as t he only spe
cific known for the effectual cure of this painful disease.
This remedy Ills already cured thousands of cases, com
prising every seeming form of this complaint, from the
i hjl ain runt- ry (acute; form to old chrom ■ cases of from
ten to twenty aud thirty years standing. Those who
had for years resorted to the various celebrated sj,rings,
had tried all the linatnents and external applications,
and been under treatment of some of the ablest physi
cians both in this country and Europe; still after all
these efforts had failed, this compound had cured them.
Many who have been cripples, either hobbling upon
crutches or confined to their beds for years, certifv to a
complete and permanent cure by the use of this remedy.
We have not space, in a newspaper advertisement, to
insert the accumulated evidence in its behalf. This
evidence comes from sources which must inspire confi
dence in every mind. Physicians have resorted to it,
aud certify that, even in extreme cases, where consulta
tions had been held, and they had decided that there
were no hopes of recovery, even then, they procured
tiiis medicine and administered it, and it effected a com
plete cure. Ministers of various denominations have
written and published what it has done for themselves
and friends ; while merchants, officers, mechanics, and
private citizens have furnished volumes of evidence of
the highest character, such as accompanies no other
preparation in ‘America.
We most respectfully ask those who are afflicted to
send to the agent in their vicinity, and get a circular,
and read the letters aud certificates of Rev. Jas. Mitch
el, Rev. X. G. Berryman. Rev. J. 11. Linn, Rev. J. M.
Kelly, Rev. It. A. Colburn, and other clergymen; while
we add the names of Hon. J. Smith, la’e President of
the Bank of the State of Missouri; Geo. O. Atherton,
Officer in the Bank in Sr. Louis; Messrs. James H. Ed
dy, 8. Downing, A. Holland, C. W. Stone, J. W. Chris
ty, Joseph Southack, with other prominent merchants
of St. Louis, as also vast numbers of other citizens.
This is home evidence, and these are living witnesses,
where this great remedy was tirst introduced. The
proprietors have now opened their Great Central Office
at No. 1, Barclay street, (Astor House) in the city of
New York, where all orders for this medicine will be
promptly attended to.
This is a vegetable spirit an internal remedy, pre
pared and recommended for this one disease alone.—
This it will cure.

MEXICAN MUSTANG LINIMENT:
VS this paper will fall into the hands of many who
. do not generally read advertisements in newspa
pers—and especially those relating to medicines, we
deem it a good opportunity, and a duty, to inform such,
and also those who have not already learned the fact
from their own experience and observation, that ihe
Mexican Mustang Liniment is really, truly and intrin
sically, the best remedy ever before offered to the afflic
ted for Rheumatism, Neuralgia, Stiffness or Soreness of
Joints, Muscles or Tendons. For Cuts, Bruises, Burns,
or Scalds, Sore Nipples, Caked Breasts, Ac., it is of un
rivalled excellence, and we have proved it to be a cer
tain remedy for the Piles. We can, therefore, confi
dentlv recommend it, and advise every reader to try it,
feeling a certainty that it will give satisfaction bv giving
relief.
We take pleasure in recommending the Mexican
Mi stang Liniment to all our friends aud customers, as
the best article we have ever used for Sores, Bruises,
Sprains, or Galds in Horses. We have used it exten
sively, and always effectually. Some of our men have
also used it for severe Bruises and Sores, as well as
Rheumatic Pains, and they all say it acts like magic.—
We can only say we have entirely abandoned the use
of any other Linimcut. J. M. HEWITT,
Stable Keeper to Hamden’s Express, and for the
American Express Company.
Rhki m vnsii.—This is to certify that my wife was af
flicted with severe chronic Rheumatism. She had suf
fered for months with the most excruciating pains she
had tried Rheumatic Compounds, Reliefs, and almost
every tiling recommended tor this dreadful disease. —
Noue of them relieved her pains in the least. She
used one fifty-cent bottle of Mcstaxg Liniment, and it
cured her entirely. She is now perfectly well, and re
commends all of her friends to use the Mustang Lini
ment. JAMES L. OLIVER
Savannah, Ga., Jan. Ist, 1853.
The Mexican Mi stang Liniment has been uses] in
mv family, and on my plantation, for a great variety of
diseases requiring an external application, and has never
failed to give immediate relief, and effect a permanent
cure. I have cured several cases of Rheumatism that
had resisted the skill of our best physicians. It has cured
Ringworms by a single application —Chilblains in a
few days- Toothache immediately—Fm-a bites. Cuts,
Sores and Corns, by a few applications -Nervous
Headache cured entirely. In fact, I hare used it Ibr
almost everything, and it has always cured. 1 consider
it the best medicine 1 have ever used.
