DISEASE FALLS BEFORE IT.
if, re than Gold to the Sick. —From one of the most
respectable Druggists in South Carolina:
Charleston, Sept. 21, 1853.
Messrs. Mortimer A Mowbray—The sale of your
Hampton'* Vegetable Tincture is increasing every day,
and every bottle sold recommends this valuable medi
cine to the afflicted. Several of our planters have tried
it in different cases with astonishing success, and ate
getting it by half dozens. It has been found to be the
Greatest remedy for Rheumatic atlections, and a wok
jerful cure has been performed on a negro boy suffering
bv Fits. I will furnish you with a number of certifi
cates if you wish them.
Please send me as soon as possible a supply of the
Tincture. I am, gentlemen, yours,
G. W. TROTT.
GREAT CURE OF RHEUMATISM.
A Citizen of South Carolina 74 Years of Age.
Chester District, South Carolina.
January 3d, 1853.
Messrs. Mortimer A Mowbray —Gentlemen :—For
the last five years 1 have been a severe sufferer from
Rheumatism, till seeing your commendation, of “Hamp
t u’s Vegetable Tincture,” I purchased a bottle, and the
hrst dose has so much relieved me that I consider it but
mstice to give to the suffering world the result of the
application.
Mine was an acute rheumatism in the back—so bad
that 1 was eontined to my bed for the last six months.
The first bottle acted like a charm ; the second restored
strength to my poor afflicted back, and I am now as
well and feel as young as when 1 was sixteen. 1 am
now seventy-four years of age.
I consider your tincture the greatest discovery of the
age; and poor suffering humanity ought to erect a
monument to Dr. Hampton, who has saved thousands
from pain. And you, gentlemen, have acted the part of
public benefactors in disseminating the benefits which
have resulted from your invaluable Tincture.
I am a plain cotton planter, and have never written
tor literary fame; but when my fellow beings are al
tlieted, suall l heesitate, or through modesty, withhold
anv information valuable to my fellow men? So, it
vou consider this worthy of a place in any of your
newspapers, you are at liberty to make use of it.

had a deep blue blanket coat, the other a grey overcoat.
These negroes came from the upper part of souih Car

fessed trader calling himself R. Lee. I have reason to
believe that they have been stolen by some white man,
or furnished with passes. If runaway, they will pro

county, to Carolina.

man of taking them off. Lke was a tall young man,
with cadaverous countenance, aud moustaches—about
27 years of age, with dark hair, light gray eyes, thin
beard, and blue blanket coat.
I have reason to believe that a gang of Marret Men,
are now engaged in selling negroes through the country
at low prices, and then stealing them oil'to be sold again.
These Boys, I think, were taken off by some member of
that gang. People would do well to examine all itine
