Hostetler's Stomach Bitters.
j j’ is a fact that every member of the human family Is
f more or has subjected to some cornpla nt, besides in
numerable other conditions in life, which, by the assistance
of i little knowledge or exercise of common sense, they may ,
he tide <■ to regulate their habits of diet, and with the as
sistance of a good tonic, secure permanent health. In order ■
to accomplish this desired object, the true conr.-e to pursue
is certainly that which will produce a natural state of things j
at the least hazard of vital strength and life; for this end i
Dr. llostetter has introduced to this country a preparation
bearing hi* name, which at this day is not anew medicine, i
but one ihatjias been tried for years, git ir.g satisfaction to :
til who have used it. The Bitters operate powerfully upon
he stomach, bowels and liver, restoring them to a healthy
md vigorous action, and thus hy tiie simple process of
■ trcngtiiening nature, enable the system to triumph over
disease.
For the cure of Dyspepsia, Indigestion, Nausea, Flatulen
cy, Loss of Appetite, or any Bilious Complaints, arising
from a morbid inaction of the Stomach or Bowels, producing
Crumps, Dysentery, Cholic, Cholera Morbus, Ac., these Bit
ters have no equal.
DUrrhiea. Dysentery or flux, so generally contracted by
new'settlers, and caused principally by the change of water
and diet, will be speedily regulated by a brief use of this pre
paration. Dyspepsia, a disease which is probably more
prevalent, when taken in ail its various forms, than any
other, the cause of which may always be attributed to de
rangements of the digestive organs, can he cured without
fail by using HOSTETTER’S STOMACH BITTERS, as per
directions on the bottle. For this disease every physician
will recommend Bitters of some kind, then why not use an
article known to be infallible? Every country have tlieir
iiiUcrs as a preventative of disease and strengthening o f the
system in general, and among them ail there is not to be i
found a more healthy people than tiie Germans, from whom
ibis preparation emenated, based upon scientific experi
ments which has attended to advance the destiny of this
great preparation in tiie medical scale of science.
Kevek axd Aoce—This trying and provoking disease,
which fixes its relcntness grasp on the body of man, reduc
ing him to a mere shadow iD a short space of time, and ren- ;
deling him physically and mentally useless, can he defeated
end driven from the body hy the use of HO3TETTFR’B RE
NOWNED BITTERS. Furthec, any of the above stated dis
eases cannot he contracted when exposed to any ordinary
conditions producing them, if the Bitters are used as per
directions. And as it neither creates nausea nor offends
the palate, acd rendering unnecessary any change of diet
or interruption to usual pur3u ts, hot promotes sound sleep
and healthy digestion, the complaint is thus removed as
speedily as is consistent with tiie production of a thorough
and permanent cure.
For Persons in Advanced Years, who are suffering from
an enfeebled constitution and infirm body, these Bitters are
Invaluable ns a restorative of strength and vigor, and need
only to be tried to be appreciated. And to a mother while
nursing, these Bitters are indispensable, especially w here
the mother’s nourishment is inadequate, to the demands of
the chil l,consequently her strength must yield, and heie it
is where a good tonic, such as Hostetler's Stomach Bitters,
is needed to impart temporary strength and vigor to the
system. Ladles should hy all means try this remedy for all
cases of debility, and before so doing, ask your physician,
w ho, if he is acquainted with the virtue of the Bitters, will
recommend their use in all cases of weakness.
t ailtion. —We caution the public against using any of
tiie many imitations or counterfeits, but ask for Hostbtteb’s
Celebrated Ftomacu Bittfiis, and sec that each bottle has
t ie words “Dr J. llnstetter’s Ftcmacli Bitters”b'ow non the
side of tiie bottle, and stamped on the metallic cap covering

The Dries’ Patent Piano Forte.
r ayi now ready to answer the oft repeated question,
i “ Who makes the best Pianos?” 1 answer unqualifiedly,
DRIOGS, I’ARMALEE A CO., of New York. 1 have been
tuning Pi tnos -Ji years, and claim to understand the instru.
ment thoroughly. 1 have been North expressly to ascertain
who m ikes the best Pianos. I have seen every part of the
D.iegs Piano, and several other celebrated ones, in process
ol being made. The Driggs Piano far excels all others, in
two very important particulars, vis: volume and sweetn< ss
of tone, and capacity for staying in tune. The tone is pro
duced as much as possible like the Violin, there being two
sounding-boards convex outwards. The heavy, thick planks,
blocks and braces are done away with, so a chamber is
formed for sound. The power and sweetness of tone is equal
to that of tlie best Grand Piano.
The capacity for staying in tur.e depends on a newly in
vented Iron Frame, or lied-plate, which sustains all tbe
strain, ami is entirely free from the vibratory part of tlie
Instrument. There is a great improvement in the manner
of putting on the Strings, they not being liable to rust or to
jar at their bearing*, ud in the arrangement of the dampers.
The Ranges, hammers, hack catch**, and every part of the
actiin is made iii a manner that cannot be excelled. The
folli w iiig is from Titalberg :
“Mr fc>. B. Driggs —l have examined your new Piano
Forte, and cordially approve of its system of construction ;
its principles by which great increase of vibratory power is
obtained, being very simple and perfectly philosophical.—
Tii- tone Is grand and noble. It has great capacity for sus
taining tile sound or ringing, and its volume of tone, or
power, I have never heard excelled in depth, purity, and
sympathetic sweetness. S. THALISKRG”
Similar certificates have been received from Uotschaik,
Strakosch, Mason and many other eminent artists.
One of these instruments may be seen at Messrs. Virgins.
We shall be aide soon to fill orders not only with these pian
os, but others of a very neat pattern—four large round
corners, gothic legs, rose wood, 6 octaves, so arranged that
pieces can be played on them the same as on the 7 octave
pianos, except on the lower bass notes. Also, 7 octave pi
anos, of the same make and pattern, width we will sell sur
prisingly cheap The Driggs piano will be sold at about the
same prices as other pianos, according to finish of case.
