BELL, ae>-d about 61 years. He w a native of New Jer
sey, aud has liren well kn wn as one of our most promt ‘cut
business men and merchants since about l*3t>. At his death,
h* was the oldest resident merchant of our city, west of the
Or.n ilgee river. He was an exempt try ana useful citizen
in this community, and had for many years been a Deacon
in the Presbyterian Church of this city.
In Twiggs county, on the 4'h inst.—HENRY FAULK. Esp
aged a’*out :ff years. He was a prominent,highly respected,
a i ! as ful citizen of h.s county—enjoying the confidence ot
ot to whom he was known, for his uprightness, and
roost lent • is course in all his transactions, during the briet
pent*, ofh * life. Were his associates to jud.-e of ft, they
might say, “he shou'd not have died so soon.” Hut that
Power, which governs ail thiugs right, has clothed a family
and friends in moaning, and th-y tmw to thedec/ee that has
deprived them of the friend, husband anti father. He was
recently a ra.-inher of the Lepi-lattire. and for several years
••rvati his county as a Justice of the Inferior Court.

On the third day after the death of bis sister K iik, died,
of the same fatal disease, (typhoid fever.) EDWARD D. RE
MAN, M. D , youngest son ot Rev. Dr. lh-man.
In life this brother and sister were vut dear to each
other, and in death they were Pot divided.
Near Monticello, Jasper county. Ga., on the evening of

tutiou and By-Laws were proposed by Thomas A. !
Brewer, and seconded by :
AVx'Jfeil, That the 4th section of the 2d aVtide
of the Constitution aud By-Laws be repealed and
stricken out, which is in these words, to-wit;
‘'Should any Stockholder tail to meet his or her
dues, as often as the same shall become payable,
as aforesaid, be or she shall forfeit and pay tiie
addiiionai sain of leu cents for every such failure
and lor each dollar thus unpaid—the same to be
charged with the monthly dues.”
