Messrs Zeilin A Hunt :—tientlemet —Since gathering in
uiy cotton crop, I am well pleased with the result of my ex
periments made with the Supcr-l*lio.'i>hate, prepare! by
Mitchell A Croasdale. I feel quite confident that it will pay
from ninety to one hundred percent, on my farm. My 1 ml
is what might be termed a kind of sandy loan Thi* yeat
being my first experiment, I wa* not informed what amount
should be put on to tt.e acre, in uring tbe four tons I
bought of you last Spring, 1 put on at the rate of one hun
dred and thirty pounds per acre, and am of the opinion
that about one hundred and fifty pounds would pay much
better for the labor bestowed in the cultivation The din
ner of using was to lay off cotton rows with a Scutter Plow ;
plow pretty deep, and let hands follow after and scatter the
Pnosphate, and otheis with plows, and bed on, as part of it
was sown along the furrows. 1 want you to send me nine
tons more for next spring; I think the prospect very good
to sell a large quanli.y in Houston among my neighbors.
I am with sincere regard,
Truly yours, Ac.,
