periodical Headache, or BilioU3 Headache, anil BiiJous Fe

biliary derangement, .su-cj by the Malaria of miasmatic
countries.
No one remedy is louder called for b.v the iiecessilies oi

certainty that It will eradicate the disease, and with assur
ance, founded on proof, that no harm can arise from Its
use in any quantity.
That which protects from or prevents this disorder must
be of immense service in tlie communities where it prevails.
Prevention is better than cure, for the patient escapes the
risk which he must run in violent attacks of this baleful
distemper. This “Cuas” expels the miasmatic poison of
Fevks and Aora from the ayetem&nd prevents the develop
i ment of the rtuewe, Il‘ taken on the first approach of us
I premonitory symptoms. It is not only the best rented?
i ever yet discovered for ibis class of complaints, but also
: the cheapest. The large quantity we supply for a dollar
I brings It within the reach of every body; and In bilious dls
j irlcts, where Fever and Ague prevails, every body should
have it and use it freely both for cure and protection, ft

dy over any other ever discovered for the speedy and cer
tain cure of Intermittent* is, that it contains no Quinine or
mineral, consequently It produces no quinism or other inju
tious effects whatever upon the constitution. Those cure i
by it are left as healthy as if they had never had the disease.
Fever and Ague Is not alone the consequence of the mias
matic poison. A great variety of disorders arise from its
irritation, among which are Neuralgia. Rheumatism, (lout,
Headache, Blinuness, Toothache, Earache, Ca’mrrh, Asthma
Palpitation, Painful Affection of the Fpleen, Hysterics, Pain
in the Bowels, Colic, Paralysis, and Derangement of the
Stomach, ail of which, when originating in this cause, put
on the Intermittent type, or become periodical. This “Cent”
expels the poison front the bbiotl, and consequently cures
them all alike. It is an Invaluable protection to immigrants
and persons traveling or temporarily residing in the mala
rious districts. If taken occasionally or daily w hile expos
ed to the infection, that will be execreted from the system,
and cannot accumulate in sufficient quantity to ripen into
disease. Hence it is even more valuable for protection than
cure, and few wiU ever suffer from Intermittent*, if they
avail themselves of the protection this remedy afford*.
AYER’S CATHARTIC FILES,
for all the purposes of a Family Physic, are so composed
that disease within the range of their action can rarely
withstand or evade them Their penetrating properties
search, and cleanse, and invigorate every portion of the
human organism, correcting its diseased action, and restor
ing it> vitalities. Asa consequence of these properties, the
invalid who is bowed down with pain or physical debility is
astonished to find his health or energy restored by a remedy
at once so simple and inviting
Not only do they cure the evllry day complaints of every
body.bnt also many formidable and dangerous diseases.—
The agent below named is pleased to furnish gratis my
American Alma, ac, contining certificates of their cures and
directions for their use in the following complaints: Cos
tivonesa, Heartburn, Headache arising from disordered
Stomach, Nausea, Indigestion, Pain in and Morbid Inaction
of the Bowels, Flatulency, Loss of Appetite, Jaundice, and
other kindred complaints, arising from a low state of the
body or obstruction of its functions. They are an excellent

AYER'S CHERRY PECTORAL,
for the rapid cure of Coughs, Colds, Influenza, Hoarseness,
Croup, Bronchitis, Incipient Consumption, and for the re
lief of Consumptive Patients in advanced stages of the
disease.
So wide Is the field of its usefulness and so numerous are
the cases of its cures, that almost every section of country
abounds In persons publicly known, who havebeen restored
from alarming and even desperate diseases of the lungs by
Its use. When once tried, its superiority over every other
medicine of Us kind Is too apparent to escape observation,
and where its virtues are known, the public no longer hesi
tate wnat antidote to employ for the distressing and dan
gerous affections of the pulmonary organs that are incident
to our climate. While many inferior remedies thrust upon
the community have failed aud been discarded, this has
gained friends by every trial, conferred benefits on the
afflicted they can never forget, and produced cures too nu
merous and too remarkable to be forgotten.

Hostetlers Stomach Bitters.
THE Proprietors and Manufacturers of H&STETTER’B
CELEBRATED STOMACH BITTERS can sppeai with
! perfect confidence to physicians and citizens generally of
. the United States, because the article has attain- and a repu
tation heretofore unknown. A few facts upon this point
will speak more powerfully than volumts ot bare assertion
:or blazoning effrontery. The consumption of Hostetter’B
Stomach Bitters for the last year amounted to over a half
-1 million bottles, and from its manifest steady increase in
J time* pa*t, it is evident that during the coming year the
‘consumption will reach near one million bottles. This Im
mense amount could never have been sold but for tht rare
‘medicinal properties contained in the preparstirc. arid the
sanction of the most prouanent phy.icbins in these sections
oi the country where the article is beet knovn. who not on
ly recommend the Bitters to their patients, but are ready at
all times to give testimonials to Its efficacy In all cases of
gtomachic derangements and the diseases resulting there
from.
This is not a temporary popularity, obtained by extraor

Bitters, but a solid estimation of an invaluable medicine,
which la destined to be ap enduring as tin e itseU
i Hogteuer’s Btomach Bitters have proud a Godsend to
regions where fever and ague and various other billons
complaints have counted their victims t y hundreds. To
be able to state confidently ths.t the “ Bitters” are a certain
cure of the Dyspepsia, and like diseases, is to the proprie
tors a source of unalloyed pleaiurc It nmeves a 1 morbid
matter from the Btnmach, purifies the blood, and imparts
renewed vitality to the neivous system, giving it tljit tone
and energy indispensable fcrr the restoration of health. It
operates upon the stomach, liver, and other digestive or
gans, mildly but powerfully, and soon restores them to a
condition eHHrntial to the healthy diathaige of tlie func

! Elderly persons may use the Bitters daily as per direc
