The Prewldeatlal Election,
tub Tins, or totwrs, nr.
In answer to numerous questions that hare been
addressed to us, in person and by letter, with re
gard to the day ot holding the Presidential election,
*4 uligcation of voter*, Ju\, we ntU.-r the following
for the information of roters in the State of iieor-
By the Act of Oongrww, to which Georgia, and
indeed, all the States base conformed, the election
of President and Vice-President takes place on
“Tuesday neat after the first Von Jay in Xovem
’ cr,”of cterj fourth year. In the present instance
It fails on the 6th of the month.
The voters to said election must be “ person
entitled to vote for membra* to the general As
sembly, or Representatives to Cos agrees.”
The voters lor members to tlse General Assent
bly and Keprewetuatives u> Congress, ** shall be
citizen* and inhabitants of Uiis Stale, and shall
have attained the age of twenty one years, and
have paid all taxes which hsve been required of
them, and which they have bad an opportunity of
paying, agreeably to law, for the year preceding the
election.”
A “ citizen and inhabitant es this State,” is a
person who answers to the above qualifications
and Has usually resided in some county of the State
for the space of six months previous to the election.
A citizen of Georgia, as in case of the election
of Governor, can vote for Presidential Electors in
any county of the State in which he may happen
to be on the day of the election ; but none can
vote in a State of which be is not a citizen.—

Departure at the Prince of wales.
Tbe {wince of Wales’ visit to America termina
ted on Saturday. It haa occupied just about three
month*, two of which have been spent in his own
dominions, and one in the United States. He lan
ded at St. John’s on the 24th of July, passed from
Newfoundland to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick,
through Canada to Detriot, where he landed on the
2Hh of September ; haa traversed Michigan, Illi
nois, Indiana, Ohio, Pensylvania, Virginia, Mary
land, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, New
Hampehire, and Maine in thirty days, and sailed
on the 20th of October for home.
In th Canadian provinces, as the heir apparent
to tbe throne, he was entitled to expect universal
loyalty and’enthasi&am. In the United States, trav
elling as a private gentleman, he was entitled to
expect only such treatment vouchsafed to him
as in some sort representing a friendly Government
and People. HU reception in Canada fell abort of
and hia reception in the United States exceeded
these expectations. The Canadians marred their
otherwise unexceptionable arrangements by obtru
ding upon him angry political quarrels. Tbe peo
ple of tha United States did everything that hos
pitality could suggest to give him a cordial wel
come, and whatever mistakes were made by them
were rather from eicesa than lack of desire to do
him honor.
The Prince and thoee by whom he is accompa
nied return highly pleased with the results of the
tour. It will doubtless help to increase the amica
ble feeling of the people of each country for those
of tbe other.
aSpuiaunrnla Ay Hon. H. fa. Hill.
Mr. Hill will address the people of Albany and
surrounding country, on tbe political issues of the
day and on the urgent necessity of a Fusion of
all the Electoral Tickets, at Albany on Thursday,
November Ist; and the people of Dalton and sur
rounding country, at Dalton on Saturday, Novem
ber 3rd.
A Gbknax Paper Raises trs Uniox Flag.— We
learn from tbe New Orleans Bulletin that the
Louisiana States Zeitung, (State Gazette, j of that
city, an old and intiuental journal, published ex
clusively in the German language, has raised tbe
Bell and Everett flag, and entered with spirit into
the can vase. This is another of those cheering
signs of the times which gi*ee as hope for the
country yet. Our German fellow-citizens are em
inently a reading and thinking people, amt are
abundantly able to perceive the and aastrous conse
quences that would ensue upon a dissolution of the
Union. We are gratified therefore, that they are
docking around the standard of the Union,* tbe
Constitution and the Enforcement of the Laws.
There are tao German daily papers in New Orleans
one of which rapports Douglas, and the other Bell.
We may count therefore, upon tbe entire German
vote of the city for the Union asd tbe Constitution.
Let our German fellow-citizens of Richmond im
itate the patriotic conduct of their brethren iu New
Orleans, and cast their votes for Bell and Everett.

Every family should have and keep this book. It

Many of the medical almanacs are trash, but this

“Arrow Root contains,in small hulk, a greater propor
tion of nourishment than any other vegetable yet known.”—
Hooper' Med. hist.
“ It Is the most elegant and richest of all the ftecula*.
Leibig places the powers of Arrow Root as a nutriment to
man, in a remarkable point of view, when he states that fif
teen pounds of tlesh contain no mere carbon for supplying
animal heat by its combustion into carbonic acid in the
system, than four pounds of Arrow Root ”
“ To the infant, the aged, or diseased, no food can be ad
ministered which will he more palatable or more easily di

in dyspeptic cases and acute diseases, it constitutes the most
proper aliment ; as a diet drink, no article of the Materia
