Thousands are daily speaking In praise of
Dr. Eaton’s Infantile Cordial
and why ? because it never fails to afford Instantaneous
relief when given In time. It nets as if by magic, and on
trial alone will convince you that what we say is true. It
contains
No Paregoric or Opiate
of any kind, and therefore relieves by removing the suffer
ings of your child, instead of by deadening its sensibilities.
For this reason, it commends itself as the only reliable pre
paration now known for Children Teething, Diarrhu-a,
Dyslntery, Griping in the Bowels, Acidity of the Stomach,
Wind, Cold in the Head, anil Croup ; also, for Softening the
Gums, Reducing Inllamation, Regulating the Bowels, and
relieving pain, it has no equal—being au anti-spasmodic it
is used with unfailing success in ail cases of Convulsions or
other Fits. As you value the life and health of your child
ren, and wish to save them from those sad and blighting
consequences which are certain to result from tlie use ot
narcotics of which all otiier remedies for Infantile Com
plaints are composed, take none but Dr. Eaton’s IxraXTiu
Cordial, this you can rely upon. It is perfectly harmless,
and cannot injure the most delicate infant.

founded upon this theory, hence its astonishing success.
To ail suifering from consumption, incipient or confirmed,

complaints ; or from diseases of the kidneys cr bladder;
and to ladles suifering any of tho many distressing com
plaints their sex are liable to, and which engender con
sumption, the Klond Fooil is offered as a certain and
reliable remedy. Differing in every particular from tlie
patent medicines of the day, ii is a chemical combination of

I'EYER ASO At* IK,
171 JtOTI which mankind suffer over a large part of the
. globe, is the consequence of a diseased action in the
system, induced by tlie poisonous miasms of vegetable de
cay. This exhalation is evolved by the action of solar heat
on wet soil, and risas with the watery vapor from it. While
the sun Is below the horizon this vapor lingers near the
earth’s surface, and the virus is taken with it through the
lungs into the bloc 1. There It acts as an Irritating poison !
on the internal viscera anti excreting organs of the body
The liver becomes torpid and fails to secrete not only this
virus, but also the hi e from tlie blood. Both the virus and
the idle accumulate in the circulation, and produce violent
eonsvitutiona! disorder. The spleen, the kidneys, and the
stomach sympathize with the liver, and become disordered
also. Finally, the instinct of our organism, as if in an at
tempt to exprl tho noxious infusion, concentrates the whole
blood of the body In the intornal excrecories to force them
to cast it out. The blood leaves the surface, and i unties to
the central organs with congestive violence. This is the
Chill. But in this effoit It fails. Then the Fever follows,
in which tlie blood leaves :he central organs and rushes to
the surface, as if in another effort to expel the irritating
poison through that other great excretory—the skin. In tins
also it fails, and the system abandons the attempt exhausted,
and waits for the recovery of strength to repeat the hopeless
effort another day. These are the fits or paroxysms of Fe
ver and Ague. Such constitutional disorder will of course
undermine the health if it is not removed.
We have labored to find, and have found, an antidote,
Ayer’* Ague Cure,
which neutralizes this malarious poison in the blood, and
stimulates the liver to expel it from the body. As it should,
so it does cure this articling disorder with perfect certainty.
And it does more, or rather does what is of more service t •
those subject to this infection If taken in season it expeis
it from the system as it ; s absorbed, and thus keeps those
who use it free from its attacks ; keeps tlie system in health
although exposed to the disease. Consequently ii cot only
cures, but protects from, tbe great variety of affections
which are induced by this malignant influence, such as Re
mittent, Ciiill Fever, Dumb, or .Masked Ague, Periodical j
Headache, or bilious Headache, Bilious Fevers, NeauraJgla,
Rheumatism, Gout, Blindness,Toothache, Earache, Catarrh,
Asthma, Palpitations, Painful Affections of the Spleen. Hys
terics, Colic, Paralysis, and Painful Affections of tlie Stom
ach and Bowels, all of which, when arising from this cause,
will be found to assume more or less the Intermittent type.
This “ Ague Cure” removes tho cause of these derange
ments, and cures the disease.
This it accomplishes by stimulating tlie excretories to
expel the virus from the system ; and these organs by de
grees becomo habited to do this their office of their ow n ac
cord. Hence arises what we term acclimation. Time may
accomplish the same end, hut often l.fe is not long enough, ot
if sacrificed in tlie attempt, while this “Ague Cure” does it at
once, and with safety. We have great reason to believe
this ts a surer as well as safer remedy for the whole cla-s of
diseases which are caused by tlie miasmatic infection, than
any other which has been discovered ; and it has still another
Important advantage to the public, which is, that it is cheap
as well as good.
Prepared by Dr. J. 4'. AYEII 4; CO,. LOWELL,
Mass. Price One Dollar per Bottle.
Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral
has won for itself sujh a renown for the cure of every varie
ty of Throat and Lung Complaint, that it is entirely unnec
essary for us to recount the evidence of its virtues, wherever
It has been employed. As it lias long been in constant use
throughout this section, we need not ilo more than assure
the people its quality Is kept up to the best it ever has been,
and that it may be relied on to do for their relief all it lias
ever been found to do.
Ayer’* Cathartic Pilh,

Hosteller's Stomach Bitters.
TIIE Proprietors and Manufacturers of HOSTETTER’3
CELEBRATED STOMACH BITTER3 can ; i j-esl .-.h
perfect confidence to physicians and citizens generally i
the United States, because the article Las attained a repu
tation heretofore unknown. A few facts upon this pc,,at
will speak more powei fully than volumes of hare assert, n
or blazoning effrontery. The consumption of Hostetler's
Stomach Bitters for tlie last year amounted to over a hflf
million bottles, and from its manifest steady increase ia
times past, it is evident that during the coming year the
consumption will reach near one million bottles. Vhli im
mense amount could never have been sold but for the rare
| medicinal properties contained in the preparation, and the
sanction of the roost prominent physicians in those sections
ol the country where the article is best known, who not on
ly recommend the Kilters to their patients, but are ready at
ail times to give testimonials to its efficacy in all c.vea of
stomachic derangements and the diseases resulting there
from.
This is not a temporary popularity, obtained ly extraor
dinary efforts in the way of trumpeting the qualities of the
Bitters, but a solid estimation of an invaluable medicine,
which is destined to he as enduring ns time itself,
i Hostetler’s Stomach Bitters have provtd a Godsend Ij

Elderly persons may uae tlie Bitters da.ly as per direc

culiarly adapted to coeffort deciitiir.g years, as it is pleas

of thousands of aged men and women who have experienc

stomach derangement* and general debility; acting under
tlie advice of physicians, they have abandoned all deleteri

few words to tiie gentler sex. There are certain pciicds
when their cares are so harassing that many of t*.< n. sink

the summer season, the hear of body and mind is general
ly aggravated. Here, then, is a necessity for a stimulant
to recuperate tiie energies of tlie system, and enable the
mother to bear up under her exhsuatlrg trials and respon

all other invigorators that receive tiie i ndorsement es phy
