No one who remembers the past sum

And so I have got out an almanac of

ing disgust, has always appoare.l to me to
ms a v-oarse and di*grac*fultilioe. And
ust think, for one morn-ut, of the awful
Absurdity of the idea. Here is a perfect
ly nude man, with a skylight in his
stomach, and aurrounded Lv things no
one can pronounce the names of, standing
with his legs apart, and staring at the
liorison with as much intensity as if he
tuid , made it himself, and had come
..round to view it from a new point.
We have got a new man to tako his
place—a man who has been brought up
to respect society—a man whom it is a
genuine pie sure*to look at and to think
of fn t e twilight.
He stands up there and illustrates the
seasons for his clothes, and looks after
things generally; and as long as there is
an eye to offend, or a cheek to blush, we
shall strictly observe oar part of the con*
tract.
I hope yon will take this little book
home to your family, and hang it up by
a string; and wnen you are'writing to
your wife’s mother, urging her to come
on and stay all winter, you will find in
this work many valuable suggestions in
regard to the date lines.
