MANUFACTURED BY
Langdale’s Chemical Manure Company,
(LIMITKD.)
NEWGASTLE-ON-TYNE, ENGLAND.
Has the following Powerful Kecommendatious for Planters:
It is a genuine English made Manure, the only one in the market, and manu
factured by a company having a capital of $1,250,000, which soils -10,000 tons annu
ally, and has the most extensive works of the kind m Great Britain, which have
been in operation 24 years. The Langdale, therefore/ has a good pedigree and is no
experiment.
It contains a larger proportion of chemical elements suited for the promotion
I of vegetable life, and especially of cotton, than any other fertilizer offered in the
Soutli. It is the best and safest Cotton Manure in the market.
The analysis given with the Manure when sold will be guaranteed. There shall
be no mistake about the genuineness of the article, nor the good faith of the vendors.
It is the cheapest Manure offered, as it contains notliiug but what is of use in
bocoming plant-food, or by chemical action on the soil, producing tho same. The
test of cheapness is not the price, but the actual worth of tho article purchased.

From the Chieoico Tribune.J
In bis letter to the Ilishop of Kentucky,
Dr. Cummins announces that he has
" severed tho relations’’ whicli ha has
su.tained witli the Biihop and diooeae of
the Church in Kentucky, and that, there
fore, •• I leave the communion in whieli I
have labored in the sacred ministry for
over twenty-eight yiwrs. nml transfer my
work nail of re to another sphere of la
bor.” From this it apprau* that Dr.
Cummins proposes to continue the of ct
and exercise the functions of a llisliop of
the Proti'stant Kpiscopal Church, but he
intemls to do ae outside of that Church.
IIo knowl perfectly well that tho canom
of the Church provide for his de
position from the offleo of Bishop;
but he evidently is prepared to maintain
hia office without any regard to the
future action tho Church may take in hlo
case. In other words. Dr. Cummins pro
poses to be Bishop of a now Chnreh,—
and, for tho present, nolo Bishop. He
lias marked out for himself a policy to-
wanl tho Fwtostunt Episcopal Church
tho some aa that adopted in Germany by
Dr. Balnlwa, who ia sole Bishop of the
Old Catholic*. The two prelates propore
to divide tho Churches from whiuh they
separate. Both ore Bishops,—able to ex
hibit an Apostolical succession in their
consecration, and both claim to represent
the genuine Church of which they claim
to be the chief Bishop. There is a differ
ence, however, in other respects. Bishop
Koinkccs ia represented and conceded to
bo a man of great natural ability, and
stands intellectually high among the
theologians of Germany.
He lias a largo following, both of roc-
ogniicd priests and of the laity. Ho has
■bo within the reach of hia influence not
only the States of the Germ an Empire,
but of Switxerland, largely of the Aus
trian Slates, and to some extent in Franco
and Belgium,—a body of Catholics num
bering many milliona of people. Kith
