was quoted at. 9 to 9 1-4 cents.
The Cotton market continued active during the en
tire day of Tuesday, and the total salt* reached 0,500 j
bales. Prices, however, were unchanged. The receipts
on Tuesday were 5000 bales.
Corves.—Rio CoiVv t'to-day was more active, and
during tlu* past three days upwards of 5,00 b bags hart
been sold, principally al 10 1-2 cents per pound.

Cotton.—There was a good demand for this article j
to-day, which resulted iu the sale of 746 hales at the j
following particulars: 6at 6 1-4, 6at 6 1-2, 2at 7 1-4,
6 at 7 1-2, 4 at 7 3-4, 34 at S 3-8, S at S 1-2, 67 at
K 5-8, 115 at 8 3-4, 230 at 9, 44 at 9 1-S, 6S at 9 1-4.
73 at 9 1-2, 15 at 9 3-4 31 at 10, and 7 hales “.lethro”
at 12 cent. Prices have advanced slightly. The mar
ket closed very firm.

Cotton—There was a lair demand to day, the sales foot
ing up 729 bales rft prices ranging from 81 to 91 cents.

three days amount to 7,200 bale#, at ail advance of from 4
to iol a cent. Fair Orleans is quoted at 12 cts ; Good Mid

On Saturday the cotton market was dull, and operators
were awaiting the foreign steamer’s accounts. The sales

quoted at 81 cts., and Strict Middling at 9 to 91 cents.
Decrease in the Receipts—The decrease in the receipts
at all the Southern port®, as compared with last year,
amount to one hundred and eighty thousand bales.
