WHEREAS I have receiv - ;
ed official information
under c’atb cf the per iff cf the
county cf Hancock, that two ccn
vidlcd criminals called *William
Mufgrove, and Nathan 'Tail,
confined under fentcnce cf death
for forgery, in the common jail
of faid county, did on the night
cf the twenty fifth of February
lafi paft, make their efcape there - -
from —and their perfens arc thus
def criled : W illiam Mufgrove,
fitppefed to have been ‘about thirty
five years of age, dark complexion,
a gad deal pitted with the fmall
pox, ftoert black hair, about five
feet 8 inches high-, ft reng made :
Nathan Tart, fuppofed to have
been about twenty two years of
age, 5 feet 9 inches high, light
colour hair, pale complexion, ra
ther flender made.
J have ■therefore thought fit to
iffue this my proclamation, offering
a reward of One Hundred Dol
lars to any perfon or perfons who
will feize either cf the aforemen
tioned criminals', -and ledge them
or cither of them in the fail cf
the county of Hancock, or feme
ether fc cure jail in this ft ate.
Hnd I do hereby charge and
require all officers civil and mili
tary, belonging to this ft ate, to
be aiding and ajjlfting in feizing
and Jecuring the faid ccavilled
criminals.

country horn negro fellow, nam
ed Robbin, about 25 years cf age,
cf dark complexion, ft cut and well
made, he has had a fmall bit cut
off of one cf his ears—carried off
with him a large bundle cf clothes,
among which was a ftriped ging
hams coat, and a negro cot
ton coat, a ftriped callico morning
gown, two waiftcoats, one of huff
caffmere, the ether cf white flan
nel, two pair of over halls, end
two pair fmall clothes, one pair cf
the overhalls made of coarfe brown
cloth, a pair cf boots, id many
other articles too tedious to men
tion—any perfon who will appre
hend and deliver him to the fuh
feriher in Hancock county , fhall
receive the above reward \ or five
dollars to any perfon that will
confine him in any fafe jail in this
flat t’ —and pay all ex peaces.
