duties of their refpeftive ftaci-

ro his councils men in whom he
h:id confidence, and who had
net the lame feelings on this
particular queftion of Catholic
Emancipation. The motion that
hood for Thurfday lad was poft
poned at Mr. Pitt’s defire, un
der pretext of a touch of the
gout ; and upon that day the
diflblution of Mr. Pitt’s minis
try took place. Mr. Pitt, Mr.
Dundas, Earl Spencer, Lord
Grenville, and Mr. Windham,
refigned.
The following are rumoured
to be the arrangements which
are to take place in confequcnce
of Mr. Pitt’s relignation.
Mr. Addington, the fpea
ker, to be firft lord of the trea
fury, and chancellor of the Ex
chequer.
The Earl of Clare and Lord
Hobart, fecretarics of Hate.
The Earl of Weftmorchind,
firft lord of the admiralty.
Mr. Pelham, fecrerary at war.
Lord Macartney, to be Pre
fident of the board of controul.
Sir John Milford, to be (pec
ker of the HOufe of Commons.
Sir William Grant, attorney-
General.
Mr. Perceval, Solicitor-Ge
neral.
Lord Hobart, it is laid, is to
Piececd the Marquis Cornwallis
who is expected ro retire upon
the fame grounds as the minif
ters here, f ord Caftlereagh has
dlo re Signed.
Mr. Pitt will continue to dif
charge the duties of Chancellor
of Exchequer, till the loan has
been fettled and the budget o
pened.
Such is the important intelli
gence (important indeed!) which
has tranfpired ye Herd ay. Of the
new minifters we mail forbear
from giving any opinion, until
tiie arrangement is finally fet
tled. One obfervation, howe
ver we will venture to make.—
ft is this, that if the new admini
itration is to confift of the men
mentioned above, it is by no
means likely to be permanent.
A meffiage was this day fent

Three Hamburgh Mails ar
rived yefterday evening. They
have brought intelligence of con
fide rable importance. The con

has been ratified. The King
of Sweden ratified it before he
left Peterfburg ; and Denmark
on the 16th ult. The reply of
count Eernftorf, to Mr. Drum

principal features of the Treaty.
One of tfie iecret articles men
tions, it is faid, that none of the
contractingpartiesfhall enter in
to any convention, which has
not for its unequivocal and de

fhips making free goods.
Another article of importance
(of great importance indeed !)
brought by the mails is, that the
Ruffian ambaffador, gen. Ta

lime Porte a note, by command
of the emperor, demanding that
the Britifh troops fhoiiid not be
permitted to aft or to land in
Egypt, and conveying an inti
mation, thattheirdoing lb, would
be looked upon by the Coiirt
of Peterfburg, as an aft of hofti
lity againft Ruffia on the part of
the Turks. The above note
made a very considerable im
predion at Conftantinoplc, and
a Divan was immediately held ;
the refult of their deliberations
has not tranfpired but it is evi
dent, that Turkey, in her prefent
ftate of debility and decay, will
not think it fafe to fifk the dil
pleafure of Ruffiia.

The Emperor of Ruffiia not
only ciifmiffied the Danifh mini

recalled his ambaffador at Co

from the latter place of the 24th

amity between the two courts
will be preftrved. General count
