OBITUA R y.
Died in Louisville, Jefferson Cos, Ga,
on the 28th day of Oct, 1875, John L.
Rorerts, after a short illness of only
one week.
11c was born in Orangeburg, Cq, Sp.
Ca, on the 2d of Sept, 1820, having
entered upon his 56th year. He was a
mason and Good Templar, bqth of
which he was an honor to. Asa work
man, none excelled him ; as a citizen,
no one surpassed hint in honesty and
integrity of purpose: ag?a husband and
father, kind and just; as a friend, true
to the last.
How can we but mourn the loss of
one possessed of so rare a combination
of virtues. Can we but hope that a kind
and merciful God has received the spir
it which' has left its form of flesh and
blood, and will place it in realms where
want, sorrow and suffering enter not.
