ander S. Roe and Wrdter Roe, pur-
chafed of col. Thadeus Holt, three
or four trafls of land, in Baldwin
county, and for which they paid him
one half of the purchafe money,
and for the other half they requeu
ed me to join them in three feveral
notes, amounting, altogether, to two
thoufand dollars, payable, I believe,
in the following manner:—One note
for . K C0dollars, on the 21th June,
1310; one other note for the fame
fum, on the 21th of June, 11511 ;
and one other note for 1000 dollars, I
payable on the 21th of June, 18 i 2 ; j
anil for my fecuiity, they were to
jrive me a mortgage on the faidland, (
which they have never done, as tney
have never had titles thcmfelves. It
is now more than twelve months
fince I was informed by col. Holt I
and the faid Roes, that the mode of 1
fecurity for the payment of the laft
half of the purchafe money was ar
ranged in another manner; and that j
the notes to which I had put my
name, fhould be given to me. I have
alfo fince been frequently allured by
the faid Roes, that the faid notes
fhould he given up to me ; bur, as
yet, they never have, and as I have
jn no way, or in any manner what
ever, received any confideration for
itlie faid notes, I do now notily all ^
and every perfon, that I will not pay j
the faid notes, therefore caution all 1
pet fous not to deal or trade for laid
notes.

p. S. In June laft I was inform
ed by A. S. Roe, that the notes
were flili in their poflelTion.
N B. Since the date of the above
notification, I have received an or
der from MefTrs. Roes, to their at
torney, Mr. I 1 itch, to deliver the a-
bove notes to me, and which was
to have been done by the firfl of this
month, but not having heard any
t thing more of them, I have thought
proper to give the above notice.
