It is singularly efficacious in renovating those constitutions
which have been broken down hy injudicious treatment or
juvenile ^regularities. In general terms, it is recommended
in all those diseases which arise from impurities of the blood,
or vitiation of the humors, of whatever name or kind.
Some of the above complaints may require some trifling
assistant applications, which the circumstances of tie* case
will dictate; hut for a general rern>dv or PFRIFlBA-

1* VNAl/’F-l will gen~?ftfiy hr found sufficient.
Taken in proper doses, the INDIAN’S PANACEA
operates .'?- an alterative and detergent; a diaphoretic, diu-
r.-tic jiud laxative; an antispasmodic and anodyne; and, in
proper cases, ns a stomachic and emm *nagogue. Generally
expressed, it increases all the secretions anti excretions, gives
toop to the stomach, and excites action in the glands in a
particular mariner. Front these principles, its operations
may he understood.
It is little more than three years since this preparation was
presented to tho public; but. in that short space of time,
some hundreds of persons might be found, who would so
lemnly declare that they believed that their lives were sav
ed hy it, ami in most cases after they had tried many and
perhaps all the common remedies in vain. Wherever it is
known, it is rapidly coming into use, and this*affords riie
most substantial and convincing preof of its merits.
The value of the PANACEA is most conspicuous iri
those long-standing nnd syphilitic and scrofulous affections
which have defied nil other remedies, and particularly in
those cases where mercury has ltet-n so lavishly used sis to
cause distressing pains in the hones, nodes, mercurial ulcers,
derangement of th? digestive organs, &c. These it com
pletely removes, and in all eases it entirely eradicates the
diseases and the effects of mercury, renovates the constitu
tion, and leaves tho patient sound anti well. In Rheuma
tisms and in Ulcerated Sore Throat, its happy effects are
not less apparent, giving almost immediate relief. For safe

/’Dr. Draper has permitted me to look over portion* 0(
his manuscript work. “Observations on Intemperance*nd

lected, and the momter in which he has treated this infer-

Dr. Joseph Klapp thus expresses his opinion:

before the public your sentiments relative to ihe diseases* 1 *
the intemperate, and having been favored with an opportt*
ni:y ot knowing what your particular views are on this it**
porTant subject, ir is gratifying to me to have it in my pv*‘
cr to express to the medical profession, an opinion on the

“Tho gastric pathology of Mania a Tcmufentia, as I htf
designated the disease in my publications of sixteen or eigh

think 1 ran say, void of self-complacency, are both preUJ
wolf established in the United States, and have been wsil
spoken of in various quarters of llie world, particularly ia
England, France and Germany.
“Respecifuffv,your obedientservant servant,

li Ph 'daSdphia, March 4th, 1826."
Dr. Samuel G. Morton lias favored the author with th*
following communication:
“Philadelphia, February 8, 1836.
“Dear Sir.—I have l>een very much gratified and in*
strcctcd by the perusal of that portion of yuur work which
you were so kind as fo submit to my inspection. The sub
ject is both ingeniously and elaborately investigated; yottf
pathology is in accordance with my own observations, and
the principles on which you treat the disease are sound, al
though we differ as lo the means: for 1 confess myself not
yet convinced that alcoholic stimuli are preferable to opi
ates.
“1 w ish every success to a work which is devoted to the
cure of one of the bitterest of human maladies, and one
w hich has more than any other been the subject of empiri
cal treatment.
**Yours, Ac. S. G. MORTQX,
11 Dr. Draper."
