TO TIIE CITIZENS OF GEORGIA.
WE make our appearance before you to call your attention to our preparation known as “Jacob’s
Cholera, Dysentary, and Diarrhoea Cordial.” This is no quack nostrum, got up to gull the people, and
fleece them out of their money, but a medicine that will cure the severest forms of Dysentary,Diarrhoea
and other bowel diseases. It is a Medicine that has been used lor several years by one of the Proprie
tors in his private practice, and the great success that has always attended the treatment of those diseases
with this preparation [the extreme prevalence of the disease suggesting to him the idea] induced him to
place it before the public in the present shape. We do not profess to be philanthropists, or that we are
uninfluenced by consideration of pecuniary profit in putting the Cordiai before the public ; but we do
know that while we may be realizing a pecuniary profit, fellow sufferers will realize that which is of far
more worth to them than the wealth oi India.
We have not time or space to set forth its claims and will only say, try a bottle—one bottle, and we
know that if taken according to directions it will cure 99 cases out of every 100, and that 80 out of the
100 cases will have become relieved and cured by the time the 1st or 2d dose has been taken. If it fail at
all, it will be in cases of children, and those will be cases when the bowel complaint is produced and kept
up by worms. Try one bottle and prove the truth or falsity of our statement.
TO FEMALES —We would say, read the article addressed to you on page S in our pamphlet,
the “Cordial” invaluable lor the many diseases to which you are liable. Put our staiemen
dusion we would sav to tire people of Georgia, that we only ask for this preparation a fair test, and we will as-
i.that it will, upon trial, come fully up to evervP erg w? hav*' said of it, if the directions are closely followed.
You will find
nt to the test, will you, by try
ing it. The highest and sometimes most extravigant encomiums have been passed upon tbs Cordial for painful men
struation alone. In the majority of these cases, one iuli dose ul the commencement will usually relieve at once. If
upon taking the 1st dose relief is not experienced in 15 or 20 minutes, repeat it. The 3rd dose is very seldom obliged to
be taken for full relief If what we say to you, be indeed true, the Cordial wiil meet with a welcome reception at your
hands.

Test imony of Wm. Ciine, Editor and Proprietor of Georgia
Jeffersonian.
We are very cautious how we recommend patent medi
cines, because many of them are great humbugs. But we
have been of late in receipt of a genuine article which we
c m cheerfully recommend not only with a clear conscience,
but also with the cheerful hope of being of service to the
afflicted. We allude to‘Jacob’s C.iolera, Dysentary and
Diarrhoea Cordial’ manufactured by our fellow townsman
Dr. Wm, W. Bliss. The recommendations of those who
have used and have henefilted by this Cordial, are not man
ufactured for the occasion but are from ladies and gentlemen
in our vicinity of respectable standing, and most of them
known to us.

LaGrange, June 2d, 1853.
Messrs. Wm W Bliss & Co.,
Gentlemen: Having experienced the salutary effects
Jacob’s Cordial, 1 feel bound to give my testimony in its be
half. In toe Spring of TS32 I was troubled with an increas
ing attack of Dysentary. I sought Medical aid from sever
al Physicians, but their medicines were productive of no rn -
lief The attack continued for more than a month and I ul
timately came to the conclusion to tes’.the medicinal qualities
of your Dysentary Cordial, a friend of mine who nad
purchased two bottles, kindly presented me with on?, which
before two thirds was used effected a cure. I look upon this
medicine as the balm of Giliad of the age. Its recent leady
sale confirms this opinion. Touts truly,
A. A. BLAKELY.
