numerous instances Droved highly beneficial, and in
others effected a decided cure.
This is a purely vegetable compound, prepared on
strictly scientific principles, after the manner of the cel
ebrated Holland Professor, Boerlmve. Because of its
great success in most of the European States, its intro
duction into the United States was intended more es
pecially for those of our fatherland scattered here and
there over the face of this mighty country. Meeting
with great success among them, I now offer it to the
American public, knowing that its truly wonderful medi
cinal virtues must be acknowledged.
It is particularly recommended to those persons whose
constitutions may have been impaired by the continu
ous use of ardent spirits, or other forms of dissipation.
Generally instantaneous in effect, it finds its way direct
ly to the seat of life, thrilling and quickening every
nerve, raising up tlie drooping spirit, and, in fact, infus
ing new health and vigor in tlie system.
NOTICE—Whoever expects to find this a beverage
will be disappointed; but to the sick, weak and low
spirited, it wnl prove a grateful aromatic cordial, pos
sessed of singular remedial properties.

it is the cheapest, by half, every offered for the
purpose of pressing cotton or hay, as the frame,
scrcwpin, and levers are all of wrought-iron.—It
should lie attached to the gin-house, and have it
put up through the floor, as the ordinary press—the
levers being only five feet in length—to have fin-
width of the house and 18 or 20 feet in length, the
lint could then he placed all around flit- screw.
Then a man can take five hands and pack as many
five-hundred pound bales in one day, w ith as little
labor to the hand, as the same five and two more,
with a horse, can on the wood-screw in the same
time. Three hands can put up one and take it

mules to any point.

This Elegant Stomach Bitters,
Composed Entirely of Roots and Herbs, and
compounded with the best of Sherry Wine, requires
no panegyric to establish its frame. Its increasing de
mand fur the past seven years throughout the United
Slates in private familes, anil all the principal Hotels,
being a sufficient test of its efficacy in restoring the tone
and nervous energy of the various orguus contributing
to digestion. Possessing the valuable properties of an
Alterative, Antispeptie and Aromatic Bitter, it gently
excites the secretions of the gastie juice, invigorates the
spirits, removes from the blood the germs of disease,
and increases the nervous energy of all the vital powers.
Its effects during the rage of the cholera in 1849 were
most extraordimirv. As a preventive and a cure it
proved alike reliable; and the testimony in favor is of the
most incontrovertible and emphatic character. It is
warmly recommended by the faculty, whose opinions of
its merits is corroborated by fact which cannot he sha
ken or disputed. The proprietor does not offer them to
I the public as a cure for every disease which flesh is heir
to; but simply and with the full assurance,
That it is the Best Preparation ever Offered
to the Public as a Purifier of the System.
j But it is the condition of tlie stomach and the system
generally—not the name of the disease—wiiieh nmst he
taken into consideration in using it, as there is scarcely
a single complaint in which it cannot be advantageously
used. It is especially recommended to htdies of delicate
habit, as an invaluable tonic and restorative to all the
exigencies peculiar to tlie weaker sc-x, and affords great
relief in eases when taken to relieve uneasiness after
meals. It is pleasant to the taste, efficacious in its design,
and no person, after giving it a fair trial, will ever be
without them as a preventive, and also a remedy for the
