Spanish troops has gone over to the patriots

Consul is reported to have declined to see
the Captain General in behalf of the captur
ed patriots.
The Empire City reports the steamer Un
ion wrhcked on the Mexican coast. She is
a total loss. The passengers, erew, and gold

Empire City has arrived with Havana dates
to the 18th.
The Spanish troops attacked Lopez near
Bahia Honda and took- fifty one prisoners,
including Cols. Crittenden and Victor Keer,
Who were Carried to Havana and brutally
murdered. Some two hundred Spaniards
were Tilled during the two engagements.
Lopez was victorious' in both battles, and
proceeded on.

The United States steamer Vixen arrived
nt Pensacola on the 20th in four days from
Havana. Lopez made a stand on his march,
end had two engagements, in both of which
he was successful. The Spanish troops lost
,.dlght officers and thiee hundred men. The
deeded wounded were carried to Havana,
and buried with pomp, on Friday last. Lo
pez’s force is gaining from twelve to four
teen hundred men daily. On the night of
the 14th, over one hundred left Havana to
join the invaders. Fifty-eight Cuhnn desert
ers were taken. On the morning of the 10th,
preparations were making for their execu-
ion. A Spanish Colonel, aid to the Gov-
irnor, was shot.
One French man-of-war and the U. S.
'ship Albany were at Havana when the Vixen
