Durability*
tt has now been tested more than six years
by the severest trials, obd In every case the
action of the weather seems only to indurate
and render it more and more pertnunent. In
no instance has it ever been known to track,
cleave off, or waste hy time.
Incombustibility*
The fr e-proof qualities bf this article have
bern tested beyond the possibility of a doubt,
and have already been the tnenns. unques-
tlonnbly, of saving millions of property, os ma
ny large fires have stopped when it came to
buildings covered with it. It will be seen, by
the analysis, tlint it contains a lerge nmonnt of
alumina and magnesia, two of the best non*
conductors of heat we IioVe; consequently the
coating, after it turns to slnto, is indestructible
bv fire. ItproUcU the wood from the air; nnd
where there is no Uir, there enn be no u laze
combustion. the ood, therefore, will char
befora the coating Will give way.
I Insert certifi ate* of all the Insurance Com
panies ol Akron. »*hio, where the paint isbtist
known, and has in several free hecn tested and
proved to stand more heat, before giving woy
than tin or zinc.
Water-Proof Qualities.
It hnsbeen found superiar to nny thing ever
yet discovered for stopping leaknges in old
roofs, of either shinglns, tin, nr nny of the me*
tnl§, nnd also 'or rhies of » rick walls, to pre
vent the absorption of the external moisture.
In our experiments we contrd n brick with it,
ond nftei the canting bnd turned to stone, im
mersed it in water, where it remained over two
weeks; nt which timo we ascertained that
there had not a particle of water penetrated,
i.s it did not weigh nny more than when im
mersed. We tried one that was not covered,
ond it absorbed nearly one third of its own
weight.
Its Uses*
It is impossible to enun ernte nil the uses to
which this valuable article mny be applied—
We will, however, mention some of ihe more
prominent. It is now being used withgrent
satisfaction, for the following purposes; For
roofs or sides of our dwellings, particularly
cottages, ns ih»- chocolate ii just the color for
the sides; for manufactories, foundries; mills
machine shops, steamboat, onr nnd locomotive
decks, railroad depots and bridges, nnd nil
buildings nenr railroad tracks, it is invaluable
in protecting from thenlmo«t constnnt showers
from U ff!e l engfne^ft?"n11 ki!ids of Iron fences,

kindsofiron wrrk, ns it lias a very strong affin

months, n perfect enamel, becoming nearly ns

harder it becomes, nnd never cleave* off; for
old or new tin roofs it i9 super'or to nny sub
stance ever before found; In fact, for any thing
you wish to protect front fire, weather or water,
it is n desideratum sought for yenrs, but never
before attained. This most vulunh e substance
has now been so long test d, and hns given
Bnch universal satisfaction, that thpre is in fact
