Whereas articles of the growth and
manufacture of foreign couwtries can
not by law he imported into thin? coun
try, except in British ships, or iiy fhipa
belonging to the countries of which
such articles are the growth and nvawu
fafiiure, without an order in council
specially authorifing the fame.
His Majesty, taking into considera
tion the order of this day’s date, ref
pekliog the trade to he carried on to
and from the ports of the enemy, and
deeming it expedient that any vessel
belonging to any country in alliance,
or in amity with His Majesty, may be
permitted to import into this country,
articles of the produce or manufafture
of countries at war with His Majesty.
His Majesty, by and with the advice
of his privy council, is therefore pleas
ed to order, and it is hereby ordered,
that all goods, wares, and merchandtl

dule of an act patted in ihe 43d year
