The hands returned twice afterwards in the boat

boa;, and bringing with them the remainder of
the crew. On Friday the lith Sept, owing to

Burton and James M‘Millan) who endeavored
by their persuasive arguments to. contaminate the
remainder of the crew by advitsng a coalition to
t-ob me of the 8000 dollars, I became fearful that

Mr. J. Auftm, firft officer, and Mr. Henry Sta
ples, fecund officer, to depart with these two
rrn, and two otheis for the main land of the

■boat, the fame day. On Monday the 13th,
the fmail boat not having returned, I was ap
prehensive that they had been detained, or that

resolved to equip the long boat as well as time

money, and feme articles which I judged to be

Gerard Bryant, and Ambrose Croach, fearnen,
who under the supposition of the return of the

remain. After being at the mercy of the wind
and waves for three days in the long boat, and
feeirrg feveval fail of vessel , none of which paid
any attention to us, judging us (as we supposed)
to be a privateer. We fell in with the brig
■S ren, capt. Sulger, for Philahelphia, from
Kmgfton, bound to that port, in lat. 22,48,
Cape Antonio bearing S. W. about 14 leagues
diftarvt, who offered me every aflifiance in his
power, by taking every mticle out of the long
boat, and receiving me with the greeted cordial
ity on board. Owing to the long boat being

Delaware, picked tip the captain, crew, and
passenger;, of the l hr. Roebuck, M’+arlan,
from Philadelphia for Trinidad, which vessel
was upset on the 2d hub. while lying to, having
been on the wreck 34 hours. A young lady,
passenger, and a black man, were drowned.

p The American fchr. General Pickney, Sic
kles, from Alexandria, in 43 days, bound to
Guadaloupe, with provisions, put into Port-
Royal yeflerday in distress. In a severe gale of
wind, in 65 deg. SO min. well long, and 26, 38,
N. lat. she had her fails blown to rags, 101 l her
howfprit, and sprung aleak. Previous to the
commencement of the gale, he saw a schooner
to windward, supposed to be the Fredericks
burg’n, of Frederick fburgh, bound to Poir.t-a
tre. During the gale, n long. 64, 30, W.
spoke the schooner Eliza, bound to Guadaloupe,
who had nicks o up a few barrels, fim- ‘-fed to
Rave belonged to the Fretk-rickffiurgh andc&pt.
Sickles, from the quantity of wrecks he saw
floating, concludes that that vessel mull have
been unfortunately luff in the pale, and ail hands
periflied.
Died, in this city, on the 28th in ft. Mr. Jo *
stph Mashin, a native of England, for a number
of years a lefjiedtable resident of this slate.

dared, “ that if accommodations in
the judgment of the Commiffioncrs
can be had for ihc Members of the
next Legislature, and the State Ho.ufe
in such Hate as to admit the next id
fion to be held thereat, it fhaii be the
duty of the Commissioners to notify
his Excellency the Governor thereof,
and his Excellency, by Proclamation,
to require the meeting of the next
General Aflembly thereat. 5 ’
And, whereas, the Did Ccmmif
fioners did or. the 16th iuftant, report,
“ that in theii judgment accommo
dations could be had for the Mem
bers of the next Legislature, and the
State House in such hate as to admit
the next fefhon to be held thereat.”
I have thought fit to iflue this my
Proclamation, hereby notifying, that
the next feflion of the General Af
fembly will be held at Milledgeville,
in Baldwin County, and do hereby j
require that all persons eiefted to re
present this Rate in the next General
Aflembly, to give their attendance at
that place on the day pointed out by
law.

harbor me. I left Bransby in consequence of his

been airefted, and bound over to appear at the
