We feel particular gratification, that the

** The iateaUrocious and piratical decree
ot Bonaparte is a complete comment cn
the writings oi Duane, for form: time past,
particularly on those nccurfed pieces etui,
tied “ Politics for Farmers.” The Ame
rican that would now presume to deny
that this man is an agent of the tyrant of
France, ought to he held up as an cbjeS of
gener?! suspicion.—The finking coinci
deuce between this outrageous attack upon
the very vitals cf cur country, and the
I poisonous doctrines of the Aurora in pre
paring the preponderating interest, £the a
griculturalists) of the United States, for
their ferviie reception, is too obvious to
escape the mod unthinking. It cannot
now be denied that there was a preconcert
ed plan between Duane and his Galic mas
ters to prepare the public m:nd of this
country to swallow without a rammer, this
deleterous pill ; this ciirefl flab at our high
efi interest. II Congress does not Show a
becoming foirit on this occasion, then in
deed have the execrable agents of Napoleon
but too fatally fucceeoed, in fcatteiing the
fire brands of dilfention and luring us into
their teii Inares. It would seem that the
Aurora forefavv, or rather was foretold of
these present alarming mcafures ot the
Emperor of Fiance agairift this country;
a puto keep down our Spirit, and lay pros
trate, our energies, he has for fome lime
past been sedulously and wickedly employ
ed in making the farmers feel hostility tu
their brethren of the cities ; ftiiving to
persuade them that their inteicils were dis
tirift from the r e of the merchants'; as il
what deeply afFetled the one, did not di
refilly injuiy t’, ’ oilier.”
