Medical Companion *
ON this important fabjefci m?ov books
have been written, whieb, *t,*agh
excellent in other refpefb, have yet grea:
ly fa led ol their uleluinefs to Americans,
because they treat of dileafes which, exif *
ing in very different climates and consti

The book now offered 10 the public has,
therefore, ihe great advantage ol having
been written by a native American o! Rng
and luccessful pratfice in these Southern
States, and who, for years pall, ha3 turned
much ol his attention to this very intertJ,
tug fubjeft. He is very fanguinc that his
book will prove exceedingly ufelul to ail
families, but more efpeciahy to those liv
ing in scattered neighbourhoods, where
regular medical attendance cannot easily be
obtained. For the use of families thus
unfortunately circumllanced, the author
has prepared his Planter’s and Mariner’s
Medical Companion, which treats, in the
molt dear-and concise manner, almost ev.
e r y diTeafe to which the human bo?y is li
able, with its name ,symtcms, causes, regi
men, cure, and means of prevention .-—-To
which a:A subjoined, a treatise on the dis
eases peculiar to women and chrihirtn
and u uiffcsta's&n on such cases as general

and a D ciionaty, explaining the technical
terms uied in this work. With such u
guide a? this, a country gentleman may he
enabled to meet a difeeie in the ftrll mo

ihe happy inftiurhent of prefefvipg lives
ui VALUABLE as DEAR.
