found in this country. The whole is sur
mounted by the Imperial crown, girt
round with brilliants, and richly decorat
ed with rubies, emeralds, and the topaz
alternately with pearls, in the ancient
Scottish crown so long forgotten, and to
^ominous'y brought to light at this auspici
/bus period. A hand with a bucklo of
Scottish gems is adjusted so as to admit
sf this elegant and costly jowel being
worn, either on the hat or bound round

if it should appear tbut one third of it is lost, as

Lales. About 3000 bales of'alldescriptions were
taken out of market, of which one half were
•hipped by the holders. There has been but
little change in our prices for the past month,
txcept in the ordinary qualities, in wh oh there
has been a gradual reduction. Some parcels of
Alabama went at 8 cents, in the laat week, and
a small parcel of Uplands at 10 oentt. The
( rincipal sates of Alabama and Uplands for ex.
oi t were at 10 a 11& eta. The demand for
ome use has been moderate for some time past,
•nd the prices for the fine Uplands and Alaba
ma have been steady at 14 a 15 cents. There
is no Hue Louiitma at Market. Our stock has
been lessening for a mouth pant, and is far short
of the same period of last year. We quote
Louisiana 13 a 16; Uplands 10 a 15 j Alabama

Yesterday the market was in a state of com-
pi te stagnation, on account of the reports of
the Liverpool market. The purchases of Qot«
ton last week consisted of nearly 1600 bags, all
in bond, via : 630 Surats, 6 l-8d and 6|d good
fair quality j 58) Bengal 5d middling fair, to 5
3'ttd good fair) 20 Bowcds, 8d good fair) and
100 1'ernams at lOd ordinary. By public sale
this forenoon, 121 bales Bowed Georgia Cotton,
and 20 bales Uvrbice, met with few buyers)
the fo- mcr, ordinary to good fair, was all taken
in at 7 3-81, and for which 7jl was bid } mid
dling fair Berbice was taken in at 8 3-8d.
