eminent ofthe Faculty, as muy bo seen by
the following testimonial:
f The under-igned have examined with much
pleasure Dr. Meade’s newly discovered Fow-
dor for the preparation of artificial Congress
Water. They find the constituents are the
same as those of the natural Spring, and
wnen dissolved in pure water, to afford a plea
sant and salutary beverage, possessing a sim
ilar tnste, nnd the same 'medicinal qualities.
They therefore cheerfully recommend its use
to such persons ns are prevented from drink
ing the natural water nt the Spring.

The advantages attending such a valuable
discovery, are so of vious, that the patentee
thinks it unnecessary to dwell upon them.—
Those who will give tics substitute a fairtrinl,
even for a short time, will be convinced that
a glass nf this water, made as directed, pos-
senses all the essential qualities of the Con
gress Spring, besides being perfectly similar
in taste, and even more agreeable, from the
superabundance of carbonic acid gas with
which it is impregnated
The public nre so well acquainted with the
medicinal qualities ofthe water of the Con
gress Spring, that any directions for its use
would seem superflous : it is only necessary
to say, that ns the water made oft-his powder
is precisely similar, nod*possessor the same
medicinal qualities, it should be used in the
same manner, recollecting that it is much
more hcneficiul and certain in its operation
when taken before breakfast.
The convenience attached to the present
mode, which the patentee has discovered, of
uniting-all tho ingredients in one nowder,
which has never before been attempted with
success, not only presnrvesthe perfect purity
ofthe substitute, nut enables the invalid to
have recourse to a medicine of great value in
cases win re if is inconvenient to visit the
spring, and under circumstances find at sea
sons when the bottled water can neither be
obtained or preserved in a state of purity.—
And as attempts mny he made to imitate'this
.powder, by substituting an article of inferior
quality, the proprietor is determined to have
it prepared under his own inspection, und has
appointed Marshal Slocum, Druggist, corner
of Brond'vny nnd Dtiano street, New York,
agent for the sale oftliis powder, to whom all
orders may he addressed.
