X O the State of Georgia, the required
amount of $100 per share, paid up. Also,
tho following described extensive Steam Saw
and Rico Mill property located in Darion,
viz :
The Engine of 30 horse power, is of the
very best description from tlio Manufactory of
Boulton, Watt & Co. of Soho, England, and
the Machinery from that of tho lute celebra
ted Mr. Rennie, of London, after whoso origi
nal plan, the Saw Mill is constructed.
Tho Sow Mill has live gangs of Saws, and
when in operation, furnishes tlio requisite fuel
for the Engine, from the slabs and saw dust.
The Rice Mill has 16 lairing PPitles on the
common construction, and four gangs of crank
pestles, which are capable themselves of pre
paring, in a very superior stylo, four large
tierces of Rice for Market every hour.
The timber, with which the Mill is supplied,
comes from the present unculled forests on
the bau’s of the Oakmulgce, Oconee, Ohuo-
pie nn<r Alatamahu Rivers ; and the lumber
sawed from it lias a decided preference in the
northern and eastern markets of these States
and of the British West India Islands.
The swamps of the above named rivers,
contain immense quantities of red and white
Oak and Cypress timber, ns yet next to un
touched by the axe, so that every prospect
is held forth of a large portion of the newly
opened British West India trado being at
tracted to the Mill.
There are many extensive Rice Plantations
in tlio neighborhood of the mill;—and many
more valuable tide and inland swamps yet to
bo settled. The rough R : ce is received in
to the Mill by means of elevations on the
edgd of tho wharf, which is 500 feet in
length, and from which is shipped the lum
ber, by means of inclined planes. From 12
1-2 to 13 feet water con be carried from it to
sea, over a very fine Bur, over which 19 feet
water has been carrfcd. On the scite, which
contains about ten acros (including the natu
ral basin'for the logs) are every necessury
out. building and other requisites, among
which are a Turning Lathe, Brass Foundry,
Blacksmith Shop, a small Grist Mill, &c.
Both Mills arc now in active operation and
will continue to be carried on, notwithstand

The following Rico Plantation, containing
1190 acres, situated six miles above Darien,
McIntosh county, and fourmiles from Major
Butler’s Plantation, and 1 1-2 miles from the

At Buisden’s Bluff, on a branch of Sapelo
river, at the distance of 11 or 12 miles to the
north of Darien, there is a five acre lot to he
included with the sule of this land to serve ns
a summer residence. The Bluff is on the
Salts, and is considered one of the most
pleaBuntand healthful situations in the lower
part of Georgia, and ub such has become the
resort and summer residence ofseverul of the
most respectable planters in the neighbor
