. Rett and Recreation. V -V
Along the line of Justifiable extrava

recreation for the busy housewife. In
'earing for her home and loved ones
she is too apt to forget tbe duty she
owes herself, and almost before she
l is aware of the-fact the la growing
'nervous, feels discouraged and Irrita
ble. At sseh a time let her pause and
consider not how much she will save
by continuing in the . same old rut,
' but how much she will gain by laying
aside her work for a time, that she
may rest and recuperate. Do not wait
until tired Nature calls a halt, but
make a practice of taking one or
two vacations every -year—going
where you can really rest, and have
time to think not of the work you have
left behind (that will take care of it
self), but of the benefit Ourself and
loved onos will gain. These short
separations “make tbe heart grow

Say, there!
Ton fellows that insist
That business la rotten!
Can you tell me why?
Crops are good;
Times are good as usual;
Money 1a fairly plentiful—
Except with those who blow it to
At the Fair.
Tou have cleaned up your stork—
If you haven’t you ought.
And you know" it —
And you'll have to buy more.
Don't you suppose
The farmers are going to put lr. n
crop?
Or do you really think
They’re going to let their land
Lie fallow tor a year or two.
Waiting for you to get a move
On you?
Buslnese is d&U?
Then, why don’t you hustle?
Why don't you get out and *a«:
To the farmers? If
They're all “from Missouri"
And have to be "shown,” why.
Go and show them.
That's what you're there tor.
Talk up business—
Don't talk it down!
Congratulate the farmer
On his crop—If he has one;
If he hasn't a good ono.
Show him the necessity
To prepare all the better
For a crop next year.
Show him the positive value
Of a manure spreader, for Instance,
To put his land to better shape
To make a crop next year.
8how him an ensilage cutter,
And demonstrate to him tha saving
He can make of the fodder
He has always wasted.
Take out a cream separator
And skim his new milk tor him.
While his wife and children stare
la open-monthed astonishment
At the marvelous process.
There are a dozen ways—
Tea, an even hundred—
By which you can work up business
And have something doing.
Don't talk of hard times.
Never say, “there Is no business
During a political campaign."
