These contests have been suggested as a means whereby the youths of tho state may learn much moio than they now know about the two groat erop* of the state. The prises for when the hoys will content are those offered by the county hoard of edu cation, the state fair association on tfto county fairs. The state fair association has of Torcd five hundred dollars in preml* ams for these contests. The premi ums in each content are the same, an equal sum for the coni contest anti the cotton contests. The premi ums range from $75 to $5 and in adJl tion there are premiums for the coun ty exhibits and a second prize for the county contests. Commissioner K. \V. Childs of Cuthbert writes that he has sent out special circulars describing the con tost to every school and that Mr. /'onroe Stevens has agreed to furn ish tno seed for all who will enter from Randolph county. Commissioner F. L. Florence of Madison. Ga., writes that his schools are to win. He expects to organize a boys’ club to meet monthly nnd discuss agricultural subjects, espec ially coni and cotton.
