The state railroad commission will
uii-1 tomorrow morning In regular
se.-iion. The two most Important
cases fixed for that date have been
postpone»1 until June 20th. These
are the fertiliser rates from Savan
na!) and Brunswick to Atlanta and
th'. marble rate case. Aside from the
matter of a depot at Kenwood in
Fayette county, on the Southern, no
other case is especially set for the
meeting, though some may develop
before the hour of meeting. Otherwise
the meetiug promises to be short and
of little public Interest.
Body Sent to Ashvills.
After funeral services had been
conducted at 6 o’clock yesterday af
ternoon, the body of Edwin M. Clay-
nephew of Capt. R. M; Clayton,
eng aeer of the city of Atlanta, who
was drowned Sunday afternoon while
bathing In Lee’s pond. 2 miles from
College Park, was taken to the depot
where It was sent to Ashvllle, N. C.,
for burial.

Big Cargo of Lumber.
The schooner J. B. Thomas bound
for Philadelphia has cleared from
this part with a cargo of lumber of
one million eighten thousand three
hundred and twenty-four feet of lura- i
mer. This is the largest cargo ofj
lumber ever carried away from Sa-1
vannah on a sailing vessel. The |
schooner was loaded here and went j
to sea with her valuable cargo in j
good shape. The cargo was very j
valuable considering the high price
of lumber.

he could be induced to accept the
place. He is a graduate of the Uni-
vcerslty himself, and is as near the
lamented Walter B. Hill in temper
ament as any man in Georgia.
