Police Were Lookiiig for Man Who

He was Wanted at Fargo on the
Charge of* Robbing One of His Fel-
low Guards, Though he Denies That
he Did so.—He Will' be Carried
Back There, Probably.

Yesterday afternoon Chief of Police
Dampler received a telegram from
[Fafcgo from Captain Sams, of the
Fargo camps, asking for the arrest
of C. K. Flinn, a young white man,
who, it was said would call for an ex*
press package at the office here.
V All of the police officers were noti
fied that Flinn was wanted at Fargo
and all of them were Instructed to
keep a close watch on him. A po
liceman remained about the express
office all of the afternoon and this
morning but Flinn did not show up.
About eight o’click thismorning
while Chief .Dampler was standing
on the city hall corner, a young man
approached him and Introduced him
self as C. K. Flinn, a fordmer guard
at the convict camps at Fargo.
“i am mighty glad to meet you,”
said Chief Dampler. "The fact Is, I
have been looking for you all of yes
terday afternoon and this morning.”
The chief then explained to Flinn
that he had a telegram from Fargo
asking for his arrest. Flinn protest
ed that he was Innocent of any wrong
doing, but that he would submit‘to
arrest, pending an investigation of
the charge against him. He was giv
en a cell In the city prison where he
remained. He will probably be tak
en to Fargo this afternoon. *
It Is said that Flinn was accused of
taking about eighteen dollars from
one of his fellow guards, while the
guard was under the Influence of
liquor. Flinn denies that he took the
money.
O.cer J. M. Cates, of Fargo came
up today and will carry Flinn back
there this afternoon.

her home In Valdosta after spending
a week very pleasantly with Misses

injured in Runaway Scrape.
A white man named Brown was
badly hurt in a runaway scrape on
Savannah avenue yesterday afternoon
The horse became frghtened and ran
away, throwing Mr. Brown from the
wagon and bruising him up vevy bad
ly. He was carried to the office of
Dr. Frank Thomas where his Injuries
were attended to. None of his bones
were broken, though he receved sev-
ral severe flesh wounds.

From Home Last Night.
Mrs. Jasper Extridge Is Afraid Thai
Her Boy Has Been Kidnapped and
8he Asked the Police Officers to
Help Her Locate Him—Last 8een
Last Night.

Mrs. Jasper Estrldge called upon
the police officers this morning to
try and get them to help her find
her son, John Estrldge, a twelve-
year-old boy who disappeared from
home some time last night and has
not been seen since.
Mrs. Estrldge was very greatly
worried about the boy. She Is afraid
he has been kid napped, and she in
timated to the officers that she was
Inclined to believe that he has been
carried to Fargo or Jacksonville.
The boy was last seen down about
the Georgia Southern depot last
night. As he usually returned home
at night, his mother became very
much alarmed when he tailed to
show up last night or this morning,
and she at once went to the city hall
to reoprt the matter to the police.
It Is said that the boy has been
working at Kinder Lou for some
time, but recently he has been In
company, with an older man, and
.or thinks that the older
uecoyed him off.
Efforts were made this morning
to locate the man with whom the
boy has been associating, but theae
were fritless. The officers will try
and see It they can locate the boy
at Jacksonville or Fargo.
In the mean time, Jfr*. Estrldge
is very much alarmed about the
boy's disappearance, and any tidings
from him will lift a great harden
from her. ,
Crops Good In Berrien.
Mr. W. F. Bamberg, who has lately
been In Lennox and Berrien county
on business reports that crop condi
tions there are much better than in
thin vicinity. According to Mr.
Bamberg they are In an excellent
state of cultivation and promise a
full yield .
