almost wholly to the opening formali
ties. The gathering was called to
order by Charles R. Jonea, chairman
of the national committee. After the
opening prayer the delegate, listen
ed to several addresses of welcome
delivered In behalf of the Prohibition-
lata of the state of Ohio and the city
of Columbus. Temporary organisa
tion was effected and the necessary
oommlt'ee, on credentials, resolu
tions, etc., were appointed. A recess
was then taken to give the commit
tees an opportunity to prepare their
reports.
The selection of candidates for
President and Vice President la still
a matter of uncertainty. Of the
many names mentioned the “Wright
and Art man" ticket appears to bars
