With Eagle in Air;
Fell Many Feet to Ground.
Mother’s
Colorado Spring*, Co!o., June 25—
There Is a young man in Colorado
8prings who is pinching himself sev
eral times a day to see whether or
not he Is really alive and to marvel
at hie miraculous escape from death.
His name is Frank Schriber.
While attempting to capture a
brood of eaglets as he hung, swung
by a rope over a precipice several
hundred feet from solid earth, the
mother made a ferocious battle to
save her young. 8chriber fought
back valiantly. Then the_rppe, worn
to a shred by rubbing against the
sharp edge of the cliff, breke. Schrib
er was picked ap unconscious with
the eaglets in his pocket unharmed.
He was taken to a hospital for re
pairs; the birds were put In a cage.
The majesty of the law in the person
of humane officers stepped in and
freed the birds. They probably now
are circling the air in their native
haunts. Schriber has given up eagle
hunting.

Range of Fluctuations was Narrow.
Rosins Also Showed Losses.
Spirits of .turpentine. In the past
week, was again subjected to th? dis
turbing and unsettling conditions
caused through the ceaseless manip
ulation. which for some time past has
proven much In evidence.
The trend of fluctuations, however,
as a rule, were narrower, for the mar
ket on .Monday last opened at 57, re
maining undisturbed at this level
through Tuesday and until the final
call of Wednesday, when an advance
!4c was quoted on the outside of
•two price*.
Thursday’s opening, however, wit
nessed the drop back to 57c, or the
inside of the previous day's closings
j At Thursday’s final call the market
j was apparently very strong and quo,
•tatlons were posted at two values the
i outside of which represented a
j gain of 14c. As mentioned, however,
j the advance was caused largely If not
‘wholly through manipulation, and
| while the market was sustained at
'this level through Friday, Saturday's
(opening brought the expected decline
(when prices eased off to 57*',c, the
previous inside le\el.
At the final all of yesterday, a forth
er tendency to ease off was very
much in evidence. The market shif
ted to steady at 57V 4 c, but there were
no sales effected and the best hid to
be had was at 57c, or net V,c lower
than board values at the official close.
It was the consensus of opinion that
a decline would develop Monday.
The highest value touhed In the
week was 67V4c. The lowest was
57 and the close yesterday was steady
at 67Vic, or a not gain of Vic for the
week.
