senting the counties of Georgia and
Florida growing sea Island ootton
met at Lake City, Fla, Nov. 14th and
15th for the purpose of devising
plans for holding the sea Island cot
ton now In the. hands of the mem
bers of the Farmers’ Union until the
minimum price set \>y the National
Union at little Rftck, Ark.
It was very gratifying to those
who are holding cotton to learn that
everywhere the farmers are holding
their cotton. One man. said that he
•knew that there had not been fold
In his county more than ten bales.
It was evident, after that expression
that the other districts are bolding

foot to locate every bale of sea Island
cotton grown this year. One man

Be It resolved, That we, the mem
bers of the Farmers’ Union of the
Sea Island cotton belt of Georgia and
Florida, put our cotton in our ware
houses or other places that are In*
sured and take the receipts of same
to our creditors for their protection,
with a contract from said creditors
that the cotton be held in Bame ware
houses subject to sale only at the
minimum price set by the v Union,
namely from 27 cen' to 42 cents, ac
cording to grad .
