2 Lawyers are on Rack for
Allegations in Murder Case
Atlanta, Ga., Feb. 12.—Information
comes from Augusta to the effect
that C. A. Picquet and A. L. Frank-
two members of the Augusta bar
association, may be disbarred for al
legations they made against Judge
Henry C. Hammond aryl Boykin
Wright in the Arthur P. Glover case.
The two attorneys represented
Glover in the appeal for commutation
to life imprisonment, and it is said
that in their petition to the prison
commiss'on that Glover did not re
ceive a fair trial, because of preju
dice arising from his connection with
the Watson-Black campaign for cong
ress. Rather a grave imputation on
the integrity of the judge was impli
ed, and the Augusta bar association
promptly took action by appointing
a committee to investigate, and if
found true to order the disbarring of
Messrs. Picquet and Franklin.
The committee has asked the pris
on commission for a complete trans
cript of the evidence submitted in
the hearing for commutation. As the
two Augusta attorneys are prominent,
the action has caused a sensation.
