A telephone message to The Times
from Thomasville today stated that
Solicitor-General W. E. Thomas had
requested Judge Mitchell to adjourn
the superior court, now In session
there, to a date to be set later, for
the purpose of trying W. H. Mitchell,
the prominent Thomasville citizen
charged with attempting to abduct
and assault Miss Lucile Linton.
While Interest in tbe unusual oase

connection with It, except that It may
be tried soon at a special week of
court. Mr. Mitchell has given $6,000
bond for his appearance In court
when called on, and does not appear
to be worried over the outcome of
the case. He says bis acquittal will
be secured without trouble. It Is
stated that the wound In his hand,
from which the doctors removed a
bullet recently Is healing pp rapidly,
as well as the wounds In his legs,
and he Is expected to be out In a
few days.
It is stated that Solicitor-General
Thomas for the state, as well as
Mr. .Mitchell's attorneys are ready
for the trial. Some startling and
hitherto unkonwn testimony Is hint
ed at when the case Is called In
court.
Detectives have been employed for
the past ten days or two weeks, go
ing Into nil tho phases of the case,
especially to establish the fact that
It was Impossible for Mitchell to
have shot himself, as was claimed.
This Is acknowledged an Impossibil
ity under facts In tbe case.
MARRIAGE AT NAYLOR.
Mr. J. D. Wetherlngton and Mrs.
Ora F. Dampier Wedded.
Naylor, Ga.. Oct. 28—A marriage
of much interest owing to the popu
larity of the couple, was solemnized
here at the home of the bride at
G:30 o'clock last night, the contract
ing parties being Mr. J. D. Wetherlng
ton and Mrs. Ora F. Dampier, of tho
Naylor Supply Co.
They have been partners In the
mercantile business for two years
and both are well known In tho busi-
icss world. Mr. Wetherlngton has
eslded hero for the past four years
ml has made many warm friends by
his sterling business qualities and
nmnly Christian character. The bride
Is a noble Christian character and
has many friends and admirers who
are deeply interested In her.
The marriage was a grent surprise
and witnessed by only a few Imme-
d ate relatives of the bride. We
wish for them a long, happy and use
ful life.

lar monthly meeting and all of the
teachers in the county are expected
to attend. The institute will be con

1. That they desire for themselves

Georgia and Florida Investment Com
pany, for a period of twenty years,
with the privilege of renewal at the
expiration of that time.

ness within this state, or elsewhere,
whenever the same may be beneficial

tioners desire the right to increase
said capital stock by a majority vote
of the stockholders to $100,000.00,
said capital stock to be divided into
shares of $100.00 each.
5. Petitioners desjre the right, in
the event said capital stock is in
creased, to issue preferred stock
upon such terms and conditions, and
in such amounts as may be prescrib
ed by the stockholders.
6. Petitioners desire the right to
sue and be sued, to plead and be im
pleaded, to have and to use the com
mon seal, to make all necessary by
laws and regulations and to do all
other things that may be necessary
for the successful crying on of
said corporation.
7. They desire that said corpora
tion have the power and authority to
apply for and accept amendments to
its charter, of either form or sub
stance, by a majority vote of tbe out
standing stock at that time, and to
wind up, liquidate and discontinue
the affairs of the said corporation by
a two-thirds vote of Its stockholders,
and all such other rights, powers,
privileges and immunities as are In
cident or common to like corpora
tions.
Wherefore petitioners pray to be
incorporated under "the ngme and
style aforesaid, with the powers, priv
ileges and Immunities herein set
forth, and as are now or may here
after be allowed to corporations of
a similar character under the laws
of said state.
